It passed with flying colours. However, whilst zooming in and out I noticed a Google ad for turning cremation ashes into glass to “Keep the memory”.

For goodness sake! How much further can the recycling concept be taken? Would they do a special deal to recycle someone into a set of marbles for the grandchildren to play with?

If I had a choice between being recycled into a piece of glass to set on the mantelpiece or being scattered across a council landfill site, I'd encourage the latter. There comes a time when you just have to say: “enough is enough - time to hang up the boots - it's been a good innings but ... it's time to move on”.

Anyway, as a special tribute to the fact that summer is well and truly upon us, I've decided to do my bit to save the planet by putting on an extra pullover today instead of going for the easy option of switching on the central heating.

Happy Summer Solstice everyone!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8377446.post-8894031153050640372009-06-21T13:47:20.407+01:002009-06-21T13:47:20.407+01:00I really, really wish councils would realise that ...I really, really wish councils would realise that we pay them money to provide services WE want NOT to bully us into doing what they (or politicians) think we should do.

To do this over a bereavement just shows how sick come council employees are.
