(And I suspect it often does not stop there but in adulthood perhaps the males catch up and relationships or lack of them become more long lasting.)

Mind you for her last 2 years of school my eldest moved to a mixed sex school and found the girls mostly clique bound and the boys mostly puerile so it's difficult to know what to make of modern youth.

That said the making and breaking of relationships in younger children is all part of their learning experience. We all know that. So why does nanny (any nationality) feel obliged to think otherwise?

Maybe we should just discourage anything that implies group interaction or may lead to thoughts about group interaction.

Birthdays, Xmas, Weddings, national celebrations, Church going (any form), football matches ...

I'm sure we could come up with a long list.

No wonder the youth and young adults of today tend to 'group' by phone and internet rather than physically. Unless, that is, they are the types who frequent the streets and seek lager oblivion.

GrantAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8377446.post-47781105260431463712008-06-30T11:05:00.000+01:002008-06-30T11:05:00.000+01:00Oh dear!Time to spit imaginary coffee over my imag...Oh dear!

Time to spit imaginary coffee over my imaginary trousers again!Ken Frosthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13568488818950912374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8377446.post-90898286094390180222008-06-30T11:02:00.000+01:002008-06-30T11:02:00.000+01:00Ken:No sir, this is the truth, the whole truth and...Ken:

No sir, this is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but.

When my daughter told me the story, I too thought she was winding me up but alas, she was not.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8377446.post-47881218054907190332008-06-30T10:43:00.000+01:002008-06-30T10:43:00.000+01:00Surely sir you yank my chain??You jest???Surely sir you yank my chain??

You jest???Ken Frosthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13568488818950912374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8377446.post-60681142979164394762008-06-30T10:39:00.000+01:002008-06-30T10:39:00.000+01:00Too late Ken!!A few years ago, my grandaughter was...Too late Ken!!

A few years ago, my grandaughter was instructed, along with the rest of her classmates, that she and they MUST send a Christmas card to one particular girl in the class, as her parent (Yes singular) had complained her child was being alienated and victimised by the other eight year olds. Of course, the fact the kid never washed and stunk, had lice and had major behavioural problems that often led to her assaulting the other children had nothing to do with her finding she had no one wishing to socialise with her.

The real Nanny bit was the diktat from the class teacher,
"Any child refusing to send a card to the particular girl would not be permitted to hand out Christmas cards on school premisis".....The mind boggles!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
