Again, it is a symptom not a cause.

I suspect that mothers that smoke heavily are a symptom of likely criminal behaviour rather than a cause......It is just what those of a certain group of uneducated, low income and low achievement families do.

Now before I am attacked for my views; I am certain that there are many poor people, without a good education that had a bad childhood and upbringing that have not turned to crime, indeed I am one myself. I am also sure that almost every smoker has a relative that started to smoke aged ten, smoked two hundred a day and died aged one hundred and fifty, it is always the story that a smoker tells if anyone tells him or her it is not healthy to smoke....I personally couldn't care less if people want to smoke just as long as they don't blow it on me.

Education reduces the risk of criminal behaviour as it gives people the means to earn good salaries and thus purchase the nice things they want rather than steal them. Sadly, with higher university fees and fewer jobs, it is likely that more people will remain in the poverty trap and petty crime will increase. Poorer people need to be educated into believing that education is important for their kids.Tonk.noreply@blogger.com
