We all know that in Britain around 7 million people now work for Nanny.
Well now folks, I have just come back from a well earned break in Edinburgh and was told this piece of information whilst up there.
In Scotland 50% of the adult working population now work for Nanny.
That is neither good for the economy, or for democracy.
Scared?
You should be!
Surely this is not really such a bad thing?
ReplyDeleteAl that Nanny is doing is re-cycling her virtual pounds in a cost effective manner. Other than the small percentage that makes it abroad most of the cash she pays out comes back to her in various taxes and other charges.
Not unlike a war time economy really except for the lack of troops huddled in camps and the much lower expenditure on non-recoverable consumables (other than consulting fees to foreign computer system conglomerates.)
I can see why Nanny might want to have 100% of the peple working for her, once she has 100% of them educated to degree standard.
In the far reaches of my memory I have this feeling that there in a name for this sort of mutual society. Difficult to recall though.
Common Sense? Communicative? Commprehensive? Commendable?
