It now transpires that Nanny herself has now admitted that they are indeed BOLLOCKS!

Nanny's Numbers Are BOLLOCKS!

Yesterday Nanny's eager little helper, Sajid Javid, claimed that Omicron cases per day in the UK were 200K.

That's PER DAY!

He claims that the figure comes form the UKHSA.

All very nice and lovely, yet repeated requests to the UKHSA for a link to their model that gives rise to this has been ignored.

Disregarding the fact that the UKHSA don't want their model pulled apart, let us consider the 200K figure.

As noted, this is one day's estimate of infections. If Omicron is doubling every two days (as Nanny keeps telling us) that will mean that by the beginning of January there will be over 50 MILLION infections PER DAY in the UK.

Yes, PER DAY!

Give your heads a wobble, that simply isn't possible.

If You Liked Plan B, You'll Love Plan C!

 

Plan C is now being considered by Nanny a.o.:

- Checking in with the NHS 

- Covid app to go to pubs and restaurants 

- Face mask extended to all indoor places - including gyms and pubs.  

- Vaccine passports at more venues 

This of course will be supported by Labour, who have given up being an opposition party.

Unless these restrictions are firmly, and irrevocably, squashed we will end up in a never ending cycle of lockdowns and restrictions.

Like it or not new variants will emerge, we have to live with that and not keep shutting down the economy and society in a blue funk!

Saj and Co Enact Operation Hyperbole

Yesterday Chris Whitty tried to juysityc Boris's hastily arranged dead cat Plan B by justifying the plan using charts that showed hospitalisations in the UK were falling.

He then went on to say that cases in RSA were rising, fair point, but neglected to mention that RSA has a much lower rate of vaccinations that the UK and a larger immuno suppressed population.

Today, having recovered from the emotional shock of  the #PartyGate video, Sajid Javid hit the airwaves by saying that Omicron cases "could" reach 1 million by the end of the month.

The Telegraph went hell for leather with a bare faced lie, claiming that cases would be 1 million PER DAY!

When I saw this quote earlier, I assumed he meant one million total cases, but looking at the full quote it looks like he genuinely thinks we could have one million cases a day. These people have lost their minds. https://t.co/wOTqLmUSZw

This is all very well and "jolly" in the run up to Christmas. However, let me take you back a year to #PartyGate.

If the people who organised and attended these parties really thought that Covid was that dangerous, and that the restrictions that they had imposed on the rest of us (eg masks, social distancing, no mixing etc) were necessary to stop it, then they would have followed those rules themselves!

In short, don't believe the hype!

But also thinking laterally. One issue in my college dining room is poor acoustics. People talk louder and louder just to get heard! I’d play music (live pianist? Students could book slots), people eat in near-silence and walk outside afterwards to do their chatting.

As long as we allow FAKE SAGE and their acolytes to dictate to us how we live, we will be stuck in a perpetual cycle of lockdowns and restrictions as each new variant or respiratory infection hits the headlines!

Nanny Peston Addresses The Nation

 

Nanny Peston, as ever, has something of a bee in his bonnet about the government not imposing enough restrictions wrt Covid.

However, over the last 24 hours he has managed to get himself into a wee bit of a tangle.

Last night on the News at Ten he quoted some hospitalisations statistics that were out of date, he then went on to say that if they doubled (without any evidence as to why they should double) then the NHS would be overwhelmed.

All very well, except that he ignored the fact that this time last year NHS admissions were ten times the level they are now, and the "service" wasn't overwhelmed.

Then on Twitter he decided to try a new tack, suggesting that the government needs to SLOWDOWN the booster programme lest the NHS become overwhelmed!

doctors and nurses, a big question is whether @BorisJohnson should have bitten the bullet of other social distancing measures, to slow Omnicron spread, and allow slightly slower roll out of vaccines. That might have dealt less of a blow to the NHS’s attempt to…
