The Joy of Science - Fat Penguins Fall Over More Often on Treadmills

I am gemused to see that following detailed scientific research, it can now be categorically stated that fat king penguins have a propensity to fall over more often on treadmills than slimmer ones.

Put in scientific terms, as per The Guardian:
"These results indicate that heavier king penguins have a higher frontal and sagittal instability; they are less stable walkers than when they are lighter.”
I dare say the results of this study will be used by Nanny to further beat people over their heads wrt their weight.

  1. Sounds like a 'king waste of time and money to me.

A skinny penguin would be even more useless than a fat one.

Male penguins take turns in incubating eggs, resting them on their feet, off the ice, with their guts hanging over the egg to provide warmth and protection.

Also, their preferred method of getting around is to slide on their stomachs, only walking when needed.

Perhaps the penguins decided that a treadmill was a complete waste of time too, so they gave up and fell over.

  3. I'd laugh but we're probably funding this bollocks
