Lockdown Forever

These people and certain sections of the media, who now bizarrely think Cummings is a saint, would have us in lockdown forever!

Risk is for the individual to manage, not the state!

Johnson was right to dig his heels in, and resist the pressure for lockdowns as long as he could. They cause a hell of a lot of damage a.o.:

-psychological

-physical health

-education

-economic

-delayed treatments

-death by other means eg cancer not treated, suicides etc

Prats of The Week - The Royal Academy of Music

For reasons best known to itself, the Royal Academy of Music has got its knickers in a twist over old musical instruments that have connections with Britain's imperial past.

As such the Academy might dispose of “problematic” musical instruments and artefacts as it seeks to “decolonise” its collection.

The institution, founded in 1822, is the UK’s oldest conservatoire, and its on-site museum in London holds a collection of 22,000 artefacts significant to the history of music.

But instruments held in the museum could be disposed of by the Academy in a planned review of its 200-year-old collection in the spirit of decolonisation.

Pianos made with colonial ivory and artefacts linked to Messiah composer George Frideric Handel, who invested in the slave trade, could potentially be problematic.

The Sunday Telegraph understands that “there will undoubtedly be some items in the collection, which has been built up over two centuries,” that the Academy “will want to look at more closely through a decolonisation lens.

Whitewashing history, and throwing away everything that offends those who wish to be offended, serves no purpose other than to destroy the future (as you cannot know where go are going if you do not know where you have been).

The Royal Academy of Music, well deserving Prats of The Week!

Nanny Bans Imperial Measurements

Nanny's chums at Oxford University are upset with feet, inches, pounds, ounces etc etc.

For why?

They worry that the imperial measurements are 'tied deeply to the idea of the Empire'. Therefore Nanny has decreed that imperial measurements should be 'decolonised', due to its links to the British Empire.

Decolonising plans by Oxford's maths, physics and life sciences departments suggest the teaching of the measurements in the curriculum may change, according to The Telegraph.

I am no Oxford Don, but I am pretty sure that feet, inches etc were used in this country before the Empire actually came into being.

America uses the imperial system, and I seem to recall that they fought many years ago to leave the empire.

Regarding using the metric system; well France, Belgium, Italy, Gremany etc use that system and they have all had empires.

Were I a student at Oxford I would demand my money back, because the people in charge appear to be utter morons!

Nanny Bans Ladies and Gentlemen

The phrase "Ladies and Gentlemen" has been used for yonks as a simple and non offensive way to address a large group of people.

Sadly it does not pass the test when used in the presence of an attention seeking twat looking to take offence at everything.

Step forward Laurence Coles who took great exception to being classed as either a Lady or Gentleman (during an announcement by the train manager) on a trip by train the other day.

Coles duly tweeted to LNER which, for reasons bets known to itself, not only apologised but asked for details (which Laurence said he was happy to provide).

Thus Coles dropped the train manager in the shit.

A pretty shitty thing to do, especially as it transpires that Coles is a train guard and is the union rep for the RMT!

Nanny Bans Saxons

In a peak hissy fit of stupidity, Nanny has decided that the name "Saxons" is divisive. As such, she has banned it's use in rugby.

The Rugby Football Union has stopped using the nickname “Saxons” for one of its senior England representative teams after it was deemed inappropriate, given the sport’s drive “to reflect the diversity in society”.

England’s second team will revert to the name England A when they play Scotland A in Leicester on June 27 after 15 years of being branded as the England Saxons.

Utter bollocks!

American Nanny Bans Snow White Kiss

It would seem that American Nanny is very vexed about the iconic kiss in Snow White, where the prince wakes her by kissing her.

Nanny and her fanatics would have us believe that the kiss was without informed consent and, as such, forbidden.

Well that may be all very well and good, in Nanny's appalling world. However, the reality is different:

1 It was a gentle kiss, that was most certainly not the precursor to assault.

2 Snow White was in a coma, the kiss saved her (should we ban doctors from performing the kiss of life?)

As ever with these fanatics, they won't be happy until every minute detail of our lives is regulated!
