The Evils of Socialism - Nanny To Weigh People Buying Booze

Courtesy of the Socialist Health Association:
"....The supply of tobacco products to anyone born after 1.1.2000 is made an offence under the Misuse of Drugs Act....

..Remove the exemption from VAT from refined sugar on the basis that it has no nutritional value....

...Anyone selling more than a lethal dose of alcohol to a customer must notify the NHS of the sale and the customer’s name and address. The idea is to make selling alcohol a bureaucratic chore, so retailers could be required to weigh customers in order to calculate their lethal dose..."
Are you happy that Nanny may one day order that you be weighed every time you buy booze?

The Temperance Movement was once regarded in the US as being a fad, and merely run by "nut jobs". Yet that movement managed to ban booze for many years, thus spurring an explosion of criminal activity unprecedented in a civilised society.

Perhaps we should all write in and say something like "Good as far as it goes, but a bit mild - can't you liven it up a bit?" Then hope they hang themselves (metaphorically) by alienating even the Labour / Guardian faithful with these ludicrously intrusive and expensive proposals.

    1. Screw "metaphorically" and I don't mean in some sort of high class private S&M club either, though that would do at a push! ;-)

  2. 1) The supply of tobacco products to anyone born after 1.1.2000 is made an offence under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

    Googling tobacco product ingredients..
..we find water. The only true test of a law is to apply it rigorously.

In totally unrelated news, older versions of Firefox spellchecker in multi-line web boxes such as these (right click) "Zuckerburg" & one will get "Cocksucker". Sadly though. newer versions yield "Cheeseburger". At least someone at Mozilla stuck a finger up to Nanny!
