The Rise of The Covid Marshalls

 

Nanny is running scared of another drubbing from the hysterical media over a non existent second wave.

As such she is doing everything in her power to look busy and alert, by banning gatherings of more than six people, imposing a lockdown on Bolton, considering imposing a national curfew and most absurdly of all deploying Covid Marshalls.

The problem with using the rise in cases as a basis for rule by diktat, is that it is very shaky ground indeed:

-the rise in cases is because more people are being tested

-false positives abound within the system

-the rise does not equate to a massive jump in hospital admissions

-the cases appear to affect mainly those classified as "young", people who were not tested during the height of the pandemic

-many cases may well be false positive

Hey hoh though, let's not let facts get in the way of another lockdown!

Needless to say there are those who are already salivating at the thought of making money out of the Covid marshall wheeze.

 

As I have already noted, the IFR is 0.1%, on a par with a bad outbreak of flu.

We have been asked to save the NHS, yet in doing so this has had and will have a cost

-thousands of elderly lives dead from Covid

-thousands of lives re non covid issues eg cancers not identified

-kids' education 

-the economy has been deliberately crashed

-the mental health of thousands has been damaged

-there has been an increase in domestic violence 

Question: what kind of "health service" asks for such a sacrifice? 

Answer: one that isn't fit for purpose!

Yet Nanny continues to fantasise about moonshots (daily Covid tests for all) and Covid Marshalls.

Meanwhile Sweden has managed to flatten its curve without a lockdown, by simply following social distancing and practising good hygiene (no masks!). 

Ironically Sweden is still on the quarantine list, for Nanny to lift the quarantine would be an admission that here lockdown policy was in error, and she never admits to making mistakes!
