Nanny would have us belive that there is a "tidal wave" of flu cases hitting her beloved NHS.

The claim that there has been a "tidal wave" of flu infections leading to a 70% increase in hospital admissions in England in just seven days is bollocks, and is not supported by the most recent data available. 

According to recent NHS England reports, flu hospital admissions have indeed increased, but the specifics vary: An earlier report from NHS England indicated a significant rise in flu cases, with hospital admissions increasing by 40% in a week as of the week ending December 11, 2022, not 70%. 

More current data from December 2024 shows that flu hospital admissions are at their highest level this winter, but without specifying a 70% increase in just seven days. For instance, the admission rate for flu was reported as 6.8 per 100,000 people in the week to December 31, up from 5.1 the previous week, indicating an increase but not to the extent of 70%.

Therefore, while flu cases and hospital admissions have notably increased, the specific claim of a 70% increase in just seven days does not align with the latest available data. It's important to check the most recent and reliable sources for the most accurate figures.

The lesson here is do not rust Nanny or the NHS!

Heathrow Airport is really scraping the barrel with this pathetic justification for some staff wearing the political bade of Pallywood.

Claiming that it is to show they speak Arabic is of course an utter lie, as the majority of those wearing this won't be able to speak the language.

Secondly, if they really want to convey that, why not simply have the multilingual staff wear a badge that says "I speak Arabic" in Arabic?!

The Media Blames Climate Change For Singapore Airlines Boeing Freefall

 

The media have been quick to blame climate change for the Singapore Air freefall event yesterday.

However, as usual with the media and their obsession with  the climate change scam, the media are lying.

The actual cause of the Boeing freefall was an aircraft stall. This usually happens for one of two reasons:

1 Pilot error, or

2 Autopilot error.

Maybe next time, instead of jumping onto the climate change bandwagon, the media should check their facts first!

The NHS - It's The Lie That Gets You!

 

Yesterday the NHS lied twice.

 

Initially the head of the NHS, Amanda Pritchard, claimed that claiming hospital admissions were 14 times higher than this time last year.

 

Like a poison gas cloud, the lie was spread by certain sections of a gullible media. 

 

The less gullible started checking the numbers, using the NHS's own publicly available statistics.

 

Can you guess what they found children?

 

Yes, that's right, Pritchard was lying!

 

Having been found out, the NHS then started back peddling furiously, and claimed that Pritchard as referring to August figures because the NHS didn't have any more up to date figures.

 

Another lie (as the original lie was disproven using the NHS's own figures).

 

The lies damaged the vaccine and booster shot programme, as people started to claim that this meant that vaccines don't work.

 

Having lied and caused immense damage to the credibility of the vaccine programme, will Pritchard resign?

 

As Nixon said:

Lancet Lie Lanced

Last week I wrote:

"A study, published in The Lancet, of 600,000 drinkers found that drinking five to 10 alcoholic drinks a week was likely to shorten a person's life by up to six months.

So farking what!

Allegedly this risk increases with higher alcohol consumption, with those who have 18 drinks or more losing up to five years of life.

For every 12.5 units of alcohol people drank a week it raised the risk of:

• Stroke by 14%
• Fatal hypertensive disease by 24%
• Heart failure by 9%
• Fatal aortic aneurysm by 15%

Suffice to say every crackpot, single issue obsessive and teetotaler will use this to push their anti booze agenda."

As was obvious, this was bollocks research.

Now it emerges that the Lancet article itself proves that the research was bollocks, as it seems that those who don't drink and have never drunk were excluded from the study group.

As per the Spectator:

"With the non-drinkers included, we can see that the new study does not contradict the existing evidence. The mortality risk of those who have never drunk alcohol is 20 per cent higher than that of those who drink 100g per week (12.5 units) and is the same as those who drink 300g per week (37.5 units). (NB. Forget about the ex-drinkers who have an even higher risk because some of those will be former heavy drinkers. It is the never-drinkers who are the relevant control group.)

The study’s authors got rid of the J-Curve by cutting off part of the J! Instead of using non-drinkers as their baseline, they used the most moderate of moderate drinkers and buried the findings for non-drinkers in the appendix. If you look at the data in the study and ignore the editorialising of its authors, the study doesn’t tell us anything we did not already know. 

Moderate drinking reduces mortality risk and is particularly good for the heart. Light drinkers have the best outcomes, but drinkers who consume double the 14 units recommended by the Chief Medical Officer do better than those who do not drink at all."

I concur with the Spectator in that not only were the headlines misleading and wrong, the authors knew that their "research" would produce such headlines; ie the authors were well aware that their study was bollocks!
