A secondary school planned to turn its heating off as part of a “Blue Nose Day” event to teach pupils about climate change.

Wolsingham School, a co-educational academy in Co Durham, had organised for the stunt to take place on Friday to reduce its carbon footprint and raise awareness about “the importance of being more sustainable”.

Parents received a letter earlier this week informing them of plans to turn the heating off throughout the school day on “Blue Nose Day”, with pupils advised to wear jumpers and extra layers to keep warm.

However, Wolsingham School wrote to parents on Tuesday announcing that the event had been called off after staff raised some concerns.

In a letter seen by The Telegraph, the school said that “after careful consideration and speaking to several parents regarding their concerns, the Blue Nose Day scheduled for Friday 18 October 2024 will now not go ahead as planned”.

In one sense it might have been amusing to allow this virtue signalling bollocks to go ahead, as it would give pupils and staff a foretaste of what will be happening on a regular basis as Miliband continues with his ongoing destruction of our energy infrastructure!

The Media Blames Climate Change For Singapore Airlines Boeing Freefall

 

The media have been quick to blame climate change for the Singapore Air freefall event yesterday.

However, as usual with the media and their obsession with  the climate change scam, the media are lying.

The actual cause of the Boeing freefall was an aircraft stall. This usually happens for one of two reasons:

1 Pilot error, or

2 Autopilot error.

Maybe next time, instead of jumping onto the climate change bandwagon, the media should check their facts first!

Ban Air Miles To Reduce Flying

It seems that a report by Nanny's climate change advisers recommends that air miles schemes should be banned because they encourage excessive flying.

The ban would affect millions of customers of British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and other airlines that have loyalty programmes. The report by Imperial College London for the Committee on Climate Change says that frequent flyers, who earn the most air miles, should be targeted as Nanny seeks to meet its emissions reduction targets.

Call me old fashioned, but wouldn't a simpler way to reduce flying be to tax it more?

Those of us with air miles know full well that they are not particularly useful as many flights (particularly at popular times) don't accept them, as such you invariably find that your air miles have aged off the system or you end up using them on vodka.

Unsurprisingly Nanny's acolytes have sprung into action, step forward Goldsmiths, University of London, which is removing all beef products from sale.

The college's new head, Prof Frances Corner, said: 

"The growing global call for organisations to take seriously their responsibilities for halting climate change is impossible to ignore.

Though I have only just arrived at Goldsmiths, it is immediately obvious that our staff and students care passionately about the future of our environment and that they are determined to help deliver the step change we need to cut our carbon footprint drastically and as quickly as possible."

If the students really are that impassioned about the environment, and truly believe that eating burgers destroys the environment, why did you need to ban them?

Surely the students would have simply stopped eating them?
