Bin Brother - The Wrong Box

My thanks to a loyal reader who pointed me in the direction of the knobheadery practised by Hertsmere Borough council, wrt recycling.

According to the Borehamwood Times, Paul Pritchard recently put an empty Thornton's chocolate box in his brown recycling box.

Big mistake!

For you see children, Nanny doesn't want cardboard placed in the brown box.

As we all know, it should have been placed in the GREEN BOX!

Mr Pritchard was duly punished by Nanny for his environmental "crime".

His punishment?

Nanny refused to empty the brown box.

Nanny is unrepentant, a jobsworth from Hertsmere council said:
"It was not emptied because the cardboard was put in the wrong bin. This is a resident error because it should go in the green bin.

We do not take out contaminated items left on the top of a bin – because it is likely there is more underneath, either deliberately or by mistake.

We work hard to educate people about what can and cannot go in different bins and regularly send out information about on it."
- "Resident error"!

- "Educate people"!

Pah!

A true jobsworth attitude if ever I read one!

Odd though, because I was under the impression that the taxpayers pay the wage bills of the council; as such aren't they meant to work for us?

Councils are the enemies of the people!

Burn anything that has your address on and can be traced back to you. Load everything else into bin bags and dump the whole fucking lot on the steps of your local town hall.

    Fuck ‘em.

There is a flaw in some people's make up that makes them relish being able to boss people about or make other people's life difficult: these people tend to go into council type jobs.
There is another problem too: we give too much percieved power to those neither intelligent nor sophisticated enough to use that power wisely. The council official in this story fits clearly into these two catagories.

I ensure nothing in my refuse bags and boxes identifies me nor my home and everyone should do the same. I like the idea of some muppet, that likes to be called an officer, is going through the crap I've thrown out looking for evidence to identify me, only to have wasted his time.

  5. Round our way they send a bloke in advance of the rubbish truck to look into each wheelie bin; when he discovers some inappropriate input he sticks a big fuck-off yellow sticker on the bin advising you (and the neighbours)

"This bin is CONTAMINATED; we ain't gonna take it so you and your shit family can just wallow in your own FILTH until you sort it. You filthy dirty Anti-Social TWAT"

I thought local authorities and their employees were paid to serve their council tax payers, not the other way round? Where have they in recent years acquired the authority to boss people about? Also, why is it that, if one stands up to these jobsworths, one is deemed as being "aggressive" and subject to prosecution?

The first comment about dumping stuff on the steps of the town hall can cause problems as the 'outside' of the buuilding, especially by the entrance, is classed as a 'public place' and there is the offence of litter to be considered. What a friend of mine did was take the several bags ignored by the 'peripatetic waste management operatives' and dumped them on the counter of the receptionist at the town hall. Yes, I know, this wasn't the person to blame but a load of complaints about working conditions should concentrate the mind of those on the higher floors somewhat.

A small up yours to nanny and the greenshites, just don't recycle, it is all bollocks anyway as all the councils do is tick the 'collected' box to please Frau Nanny EU then dump it in landfill - oh you pay extra council tax for recycling to save the planet man as well.
