The Thieving Bastards of Newham Council

As loyal readers know, Nanny and her chums will do anything in their power to screw this country's hapless citizens out of as much money as possible.

Up until now this "milch cow" approach was under the guise of Nanny's rule of "law", now it seems that Nanny has gone one step further and is happy to gather such tithes illegally and outwith the rule of law.

Step forward the thieving bastards from Newham Council, who have happily been issuing illegal parking tickets over the last two years based on "evidence" garnered from a dozen cameras that have not been authorised by the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA).

The BBC reports that Newham Council knows that between 2011 and 2013 it issued 6,840 tickets from unauthorised cameras - making £350,000.

By law, only camera models that have been specifically authorised by the VCA can be used by councils. Otherwise authorities might use cameras that are not of a high enough calibre to be relied upon for evidence. However, Newham Council was using cameras that did not have approval.

The council has now cancelled all the parking tickets that were unpaid, writing off a total of £347,376. However, it is refusing to refund those drivers who settled the unlawful fines straight away.

A Newham Council spokesman said:
"An internal review in June 2013 of 169 cameras operated by Newham Council found that 12 cameras used to issue parking tickets were not fully certified at that time.

The council has decided that all outstanding fines from tickets issued via these cameras will be cancelled.

The cameras recorded vehicle use which was liable for enforcement.

As other councils have established in law when involved in similar cases on a much larger scale, we will therefore not be allowing appeals on tickets paid in relation to these cameras."

Ker Farking Ching!

Newham council are thieving bastards, happy to enforce the law in order to extract money from local residents but refusing to obey the law when it comes to its own behaviour and criminal activity.

Prats of The Week - Various Councils

Ooh Err Missus, tis time for another Prats of The Week Award.

This week it goes to various councils (such as Newham, Lancashire and Tower Hamlets) who have been minded to pay for some rather bizarre advice offered by Anne O'Conner (an early years consultant, I assume that means child "expert") about banning witches' black hats in school/nursery toy boxes.

Eh?

It seems that by dressing toy witches in black hats a "negative" stereotype may be being created in the minds of kids, which will lead to racism.

Well, aside from the fact that the colour black wrt clothing has nothing to do with implanting racist attitudes whatsoever, may I ask what exactly a witch is meant to wear?

Oh, that's alright, the councils have been told that too.

Pink, apparently!

Does this not mean that other sections of the community (with a penchant for pink, eg ballerinas) will be stereotyped?

No, the "experts" have a solution for that too.

Fairies, such as Tinkerbell, should now be dressed in darker colours!

Oh, and for good measure, white paper is also racist..apparently!

Therefore when you are viewing the white background of this site, please try to imagine it as being anything other than white lest you become a racist.

The final straw comes with the advice offered to teachers about what to answer kids when they ask "what is your favourite colour?"

The answer must ALWAYS be black or brown.

FFS!!!

Yes, lying to kids sets a good example doesn't it?

I wonder how much this shite cost the taxpayer?

Nanny Bans Mr Whippy

Nanny Bans Mr WhippyNanny has something of a horror of seeing children, or indeed adults, enjoy themselves. Frivolity, in her world, is a waste of time and energy and should be stamped out.

Needless to say, the sound of Greensleeves and the sight of a brightly coloured van selling ice cream is regarded by Nanny as being just toooo frivolous. Therefore she has decided that Mr Whippy, and his chums, should be banned from selling their highly dangerous and evil ice cream near schools.

Mr Whippy and his chums have been playing Greensleeves and selling ice cream to generations of British kids, and their parents, for the past 60 years. Now Nanny's chums in the health lobby have decided that ice-cream vans are a danger to children's health.

An amendment to the Education and Inspection Bill will be put forward this week. In the amendment, local authorities will be given new powers to stop ice-cream vans from operating near school gates.

This miserable bastard move comes on top of regulations being imposed by local authorities that ban ice-cream vans from using pay-and-display parking spaces, and rules that set up "ice-cream-free" exclusion zones around busy shopping streets.

Nanny's chums in Newham council informed Mr Whippy and his mates last month that it would fine van owners up to £80 if they used pay-and-display bays. Greenwich council has banned the vans from its streets altogether.

Miserable, sad, pathetic, jobsworth, bastards!

West Dunbartonshire council has introduced an exclusion zone around schools for vans.

As one dietitian said, all this daft ban will do is push the children into buying less healthy food and sweets at their local store.

Catherine Collins, the chief dietitian at St George's Hospital, Tooting said:

"This is the kind of blanket ban that gives the health lobby a bad name.

A healthy diet can factor in a sugary treat such as an ice-cream.

It is the frequency of that treat that is an issue.

Most choices from an ice-cream van would provide fewer calories and fat compared to a free choice from a newsagent
."

Nanny is having none of that. Chris Waterman, the executive director of the Confederation of Education and Children's Services Managers (eh?), said:

"There are millions going into healthy food in schools, yet kids are rushing to spend their money on food from mobile vans

(Editor's note: it's called the free market matey!)

The ice-cream van industry may be saying it is in meltdown but for the sake of our children's health and safety we should keep the icons at Bournemouth and Blackpool but stop them driving around schools."

Twat!

As ever Nanny fails to make the distinction between a once in a while treat, and a daily overindulgence. If you are stupid enough to eat tons of ice cream every day then you will make yourself ill, but then that's your choice surely?

For the record a large single ice cream cone contains about 139 calories. A chocolate Flake adds about 100 calories.

A Mars Bar contains nearly 300 calories.

Will Nanny be banning those as well?

The next step that Nanny will be taking is to regulate and monitor what children eat outside the school gates, ie she will be insisting on regulating what they (and their parents) eat at home.

Are you happy with letting her do that?
