The Financial Power List 2006

The Financial Power List 2006I am sure that you will be as amused as I am to read that Accountancy Age have placed me on their Financial Power List for 2006.

I am 11th on their list of the top 50 of "The Ones To Watch". The list identifies the "most influential names to look out for" in the world of finance for 2006.

I stand shoulder to shoulder with such illustrious names as:

-Dave Hartnett HMRC Director (1st)
-Gordon Brown (6th)
-Eric Anstee CEO of the ICAEW (joint 11th)
-Sir Christopher Hogg Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council (17th)

Quote:

"Frost, whose idiosyncratic blogs lit up 2005 when pooh-poohing ICAEW strategy, is expected to carry on with added zeal in 2006".

They aren't wrong there!

Despite this achievement, Nanny has not given me a knighthood in the New Year's honours!

  1. Ah-ha Ken, congratulations on your recognition. As a fellow accountant I can very heartily endorse your achievement, and your blog.

A recognition far more meaningful than the list of New Year's honours which mainly seem to serve the slothful public sector and political brigade, as they line their little achievements with knighthoods, CBE's and so forth, whilst the real economic engine of our society - those hundreds and hundreds of real workers, the ones who run small, medium and larger businesses, those who create the jobs, opportunities, goods and services, and who are made to collect the taxes and operate many of the nanny policies (such as SMP, SSP, SPP, SAP, Tax credits etc etc) of this failed administration, never get recognised at all.

Well it would have been a bit premature to have rewarded you (should you choose to accept) BEFORE your elevated status was made public.

In any case, a summer Knight from the birthday honours would be so much balmier than a winter Knight, though less in accord with your family name.

    ;-)

    Ken,

Congratulations on the recognition. However I note that you're described as a renegade, so perhaps you have to go over to the dark side before getting a gong!
