Knobheads

Knobheads
Congratulations to Rushcliffe Borough Council for winning my uber popular "Knobheads of The Year" Award.

For why?

Ask Peter Knott (76 suffering from severe arthritis) who recently was fined £35 in West Bridgford.

For why?

He displayed his blue badge upside down at a Nottinghamshire council car park.

Rushcliffe Borough Council then waded in and said that the warden was correct to issue the ticket under the regulations.

"The rules are very clear, well publicised and prominent in the car park - blue badges must be displayed correctly."

Clearly the council is infested by a bunch of money grabbing, jobsworth knobheads.

Councils are the enemy of the people.

Rushcliffe Borough Council, well deserving Knobheads of The Year!

  1. As a blue badge holder myself, I find this story somewhat disturbing. Yes, when one recieves one's blue badge, one get half an Amazon rain forest of rules, regulations and guidance notes with it, but does displaying it upside down really warrant a £35 kerching?....It is not clear whether the badge is upside down; ie the picture is displayed facing the back of the car or whether the badge is displayed with the expiry date etc downwards facing the dashboard.

Councils seem to hate to issue bluebadges at the moment because some people have got something for nothing by getting one and, I am told that they are worth a fortune so many councils, following Nanny's diktats, have made it far more difficult to get these badges, including people like myself, that has held one for many years, when I go to renew it.

It seems to me that this country has become obcessed with raking in cash....As a nation we know the price of everything but the value of nothing.

Fines, fees etc etc for the council, are little more than an extra tax revenue stream for them and I feel it is little more than a cynical ploy to get around the "No rise in council tax" diktat from Westminster nanny.

Does putting a blue badge upside down make the time displayed illegible? Does it justify taking money that could be a substantial portion of the holder's weekly income? Do councils ever think that fining an elderly/sick/disabled person could deprive them the means to keep warm and properly fed during cold weather? No, and even if they did they wouldn't give a shit because as statutory corporations local authorities have just one aim: to make profits at the expense of the community they are meant to serve. Never forget that UK plc is a corporatocracy and the bureaucrats who run it are continually inventing ever more ways to use their immense powers to steal money from their increasingly impoverished subjects. As for the pondlife who wrote out the ticket, I do hope that what goes round comes round.

"Scum" is the only word I can think of to describe both the little Hitler who issued the ticket and the self important, small minded council clerks (I can't bring myself to call them officers or officials) who supported this action.

May they all suffer at the hands of their successors when thy too are elderly and perhaps disabled.

Whilst I totally agree with the comments already made, you must appreciate that unlike us mere mortals, including the unfortunate Mr Knott, local authorities and the jobsworths they employ do not make mistakes themselves (or so they would have us believe) and do not tollerate it from local serfs er, sorry, local council tax payers. As James Bond's arch-enemy, the one with the white Persian cat, puts it, "this organisation does not tollerate failure!"

  6. I've got a better idea - plant the warden "upside down" in a flower bed.

Preferably one that's had plenty of well rotted pig sh1t recently dug in...

According to the Ancient Greeks, 'proctocracy' is the term for government by a***holes: in my opinion, no shortage of these in the E.E.C, government or local authorities!

Just how much is this council paying its CEO?

This action is deplorable and should be challenged. But with a Government that still does not abide by the Disability Discrimination Act by allowing 4 london boroughs to have no blue badge parking - are you listenng Camden, Westminster, City and Southwark? - what can anyone expect???
