Those of you who wish to stick two fingers up to Nanny may wish to participate in a little event being organised for 31 December this year, New Year's Eve.
Pubs, clubs and other venues are being encouraged to break the no smoking law on that day and overwhelm Nanny's smoking police
Sounds like a good idea to me, I may even puff on a fag myself that evening in honour of the event.
Here is a newspaper article on the subject from The Sunday Post
Yes. They can't lock us all up, can they?
ReplyDeleteCan they?
It's not about locking people up...it's about money raising via the penalty notice system...Kerching.
ReplyDeleteOh dear Ken...Incitement to commit an offence...Nanny will be cross....Have your cheque book ready.....Kerching.
Nanny's till is going to sound like a fire alarm!!
This is being discussed over at the freedom2choose.info forum.
ReplyDeleteWhy is 'Nanny' trying to stop people who smoke from associating together?
They can't lock us all up, can they?
Maybe not, but for some older folk it maybe house arrest.
The more affluent of course can pay the fine and add to 'Nanny's' coffers, even if they are a tax exile, fairs fair.

Can the judicial system take the strain of a few thousand smokers taking their appeals as far as they can?
ReplyDeleteI don't normally smoke either but I've got a feeling I'll be trying to get hold of a Cuban cigar for this occassion.
