PHE Want To Ban Cars From Schools

Nanny's quango, Public Health England, wants to ban cars from near schools.

Paul Cosford, the medical director of Public Health England, told the Times it should be socially unacceptable to leave a car running near school gates.

The comments came as PHE published a series of recommendations on how the government can improve air quality.

PHE said 28,000 to 36,000 deaths a year in the UK could be attributed to long-term exposure to air pollution.

All very well, but how does PHE intend to enforce such a rule?

More council enforcement officers and fines I assume?

But how are little Sebastian and Jocasta going to get from Mummy's 4x4 to the school gates if it's not parked directly outside? Won't somebody pleeeease think of the children.

  2. More jackboot thinking.

  3. Why do I read that as PHEW ?

  4. He would be better employed removing the Speed Ramps out side schools, as NICE said last year "their are pokets of pollution everywhere there are Speed humps". The School opposite my Home is between 4 roads and after NICE they put humps on every one of the surounding roads putting the School right in the middle of the pollution. Very clever our Town Council!!

Judging by their spelling and grammar, they should be back at school.
