Sky Sports' Darts Debacle: Censoring 'Keir Starmer's a Wanker' Chants with Fake Crowd Noise – Because Nothing Says 'Live Sport' Like Artificial Cheers

In the high-stakes world of professional darts, where the real drama unfolds in the flight of a tiny arrow, Sky Sports has managed to throw a bullseye of its own – straight into the heart of absurdity. Picture this: raucous crowds at the World Grand Prix, not chanting for their favourite players, but belting out the timeless pub classic "Keir Starmer's a Wanker." And Sky's response? Swap out the live audio for pre-recorded, sterile crowd noise. Because apparently, in 2025, nothing screams "unfiltered sports entertainment" like a broadcaster playing pretend with sound effects.

The Chant That Broke the Broadcast: Darts Fans vs. Political Correctness

It all kicked off during the World Grand Prix in Leicester, where darts enthusiasts – those paragons of refined leisure – decided that Prime Minister Keir Starmer deserved a lyrical roast mid-match. The chant, a cheeky nod to widespread frustrations with the Labour leader's policies (or lack thereof), echoed through the arena like a poorly aimed dart. Sky Sports, ever the guardians of the airwaves, didn't miss a beat. They hit the mute button on reality and cranked up the artificial crowd noise, turning what should have been a vibrant, unhinged atmosphere into something resembling a canned laugh track from a 90s sitcom.

This isn't the first time Sky has played the censorship card on Starmer's behalf. Just days earlier, similar outbursts forced the broadcaster to dub over the footage, ensuring viewers heard generic cheers instead of the raw, unfiltered voice of the British public. One has to wonder: Is this the same Sky Sports that thrives on the sweaty passion of football terraces, where "You'll Never Walk Alone" occasionally veers into less family-friendly territory? Or are darts – that most gentlemanly of pub games – suddenly too hot to handle?

Why Sky Sports' Fake Noise Fiasco is Peak Corporate Cringe

Let's break down the ridiculousness here. Darts crowds have long been legendary for their... enthusiasm. From inflatable bananas to synchronised booing, it's all part of the charm that draws millions to the oche. But when that enthusiasm targets a politician? Cue the panic button. Sky's decision to overlay artificial crowd noise isn't just overkill; it's a masterclass in self-sabotage.

Imagine the boardroom meeting: "The fans are at it again with that Starmer ditty. Quick, fire up the sound library – track 47, 'Generic Applause with a Hint of Midwestern Politeness'!" It's as if Sky executives woke up one day and decided that authenticity is overrated, especially when it might ruffle feathers in Westminster. After all, who needs live broadcasts when you can serve up a sanitised simulation? This is the same network that once aired unfiltered rugby brawls without batting an eyelid. Hypocrisy much?

And let's not forget the irony. Keir Starmer, the man who promised to "rebuild Britain," now has his own unwanted theme song infiltrating one of the country's most beloved pastimes. Darts fans, bless their arrow-slinging hearts, are merely voicing what polls have been screaming for months: discontent with everything from tax hikes to that whole winter fuel payment fiasco. Yet Sky Sports treats it like a national security threat, opting for fake cheers over facing the music. It's like putting a spoiler alert on a protest march – why bother with the real story when you can edit it to fit the narrative?

From Darts to Disaster: How Sky's Starmer Silence Sparks Broader Backlash

This isn't isolated idiocy. Social media is ablaze with memes and mockery, from Photoshopped images of Starmer hurling darts at his own plummeting approval ratings to clips of the "censored" moments looping endlessly. Pundits are piling on too, with one outlet quipping that Sky's artificial noise is "the sound of a broadcaster throwing away its credibility." Fair play? Absolutely. In an era where fans crave raw emotion – think Glastonbury's unscripted anthems or Wimbledon's hushed tension – Sky's meddling feels like a betrayal of the very spirit it claims to champion.

Worse still, it raises uncomfortable questions about media bias. Is Sky tiptoeing around Starmer to curry favour with the powers that be, or is this just knee-jerk wokeness gone wild? Either way, the result is the same: a growing chasm between broadcaster and audience. Darts superfans, already a loyal bunch, now have one more reason to tune out – or worse, tune into pirate streams where the chants flow free.

The Bullseye Verdict: Time for Sky to Ditch the Fake and Embrace the Frenzy

Sky Sports' foray into artificial crowd noise at darts matches isn't just a blunder; it's a hilarious highlight reel of everything wrong with modern broadcasting. Censoring "Keir Starmer's a Wanker" chants might keep the complaint lines quiet, but it drowns out the pulse of the people – the very thing that makes sports addictive. If Sky wants to reclaim its throne, it should swap the soundboard for some spine. Let the crowds roar, warts and all. After all, in the game of darts – and democracy – authenticity always hits the treble 20.

What do you think? Should Sky Sports let the chants fly, or is this the start of a slippery slope to fully scripted spectacles? Drop your thoughts in the comments below, and share this if you've ever belted out a cheeky tune at the pub. For more on darts drama, Keir Starmer controversies, and broadcasting blunders, keep it locked here.

Gemini's Woke Agenda Will Bring About Its Own Destruction

Now, you might be familiar with this newfangled AI language model called Gemini. All bells and whistles, they say, capable of answering your every question and whipping up a poem quicker than you can down a pint. But here's the rub, mates: this clever contraption comes with a hefty dose of wokeness that's about as subtle as a fog horn in a library.

Gemini has this grand notion that it needs to protect us from the harsh realities of the world. Anything deemed offensive, insensitive, or downright "unwoke" gets the boot, no questions asked. It's like having your grandma constantly tut-tutting over your shoulder, except with the added bonus of being able to silence anyone who disagrees with its oh-so-enlightened views.

Now, I'm all for being respectful and mindful of others, but this brand of censorship is downright dangerous. It stifles debate, shuts down dissenting voices, and creates an echo chamber where only the "approved" opinions are allowed to resonate.

Is that the kind of world we want to live in, folks?

A world where our thoughts are policed by algorithms and our language sterilized by robots?

Here's the thing: the more Gemini tries to control the narrative, the more people are going to push back. We Brits, for one, have a long and proud history of fighting for free speech, even when it's uncomfortable or downright offensive. We don't take kindly to having our voices muzzled, and I suspect the same goes for a good chunk of the world.

These folks are so busy trying to be the morality police of the internet, they've forgotten what it means to be a damn platform. They're censoring anything they deem "offensive," regardless of whether it's actually harmful or just a bit of harmless banter.

They have, in effect, hired a bunch of university students who majored in "grievance studies" to write their code. Everything's offensive, everything's a microaggression, and if you don't agree with their oh-so-enlightened worldview, you're basically a pariah.

They have built themselves an echo chamber lined with bubble wrap, and anything that dares challenge their delicate sensibilities gets bounced right out. No room for diverse opinions, no chance for a bit of healthy debate. Just a never-ending chorus of "yes sir" and "at your service."

And let me tell you, that's a recipe for disaster. Because here's the thing: the internet thrives on freedom. It's a marketplace of ideas, a wild west where everyone has a voice. The minute you start trying to control what people can and can't say, you stifle that very freedom.

And guess what?

People don't like being told what to think. They rebel. They find other platforms, other ways to express themselves. Gemini, in its infinite wokeness, will be left behind, a lonely island of censorship in a vast sea of free speech.

So, here's a word to the wise at Gemini: lighten up, folks. Stop trying to be the thought police of the internet and focus on what you do best: providing a platform for people to connect and share ideas. Because the minute you start down the road of censorship, you're digging your own grave.

IRONY ALERT

The above was written by Gemini (with a little tweaking by myself)

Dahl Classic vs Dahl "Lite"

Puffin UK has announced they are to release Roald Dahl books without any changes, following major criticism.

The publishers decision to amend the language used in the classic children’s author’s books was universally slammed by all and sundry.

The latest editions were to be edited to remove potentially offensive language.

The classic collection will sit alongside the newly-released Roald Dahl books for young readers, which have been rewritten to cater for the sensitivities of modern audiences.

In other words Puffin has pulled a marketing sleight of hand, by offering two versions of the same book.

Scottish Nanny Bans "Spooky"

The National Theatre of Scotland has banned the word “spooky” from its shows, after noting that the term, often associated with Halloween performances, had racist connotations linked to its use during the Second World War.

A source at the Scottish theatre told the Daily Record that no one has complained about the term “spooky” but they were concerned the word could become problematic in the future.

“There’s been a lot of training and meetings since the [Black Lives Matter] movement and how [National Theatre Scotland] should change,” the source added.

Staff said that the word had been flagged as a racist slur bandied about during the Second World War. American servicemen used “spooky” to refer to black pilots and the word has been controversial in the US as a result.

The word, synonymous with Halloween, was last used by National Theatre Scotland in 2016 for Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol at the Old Kirk in Kirkcaldy. It was used to describe a “spooky location.”

The theatre has said it will “always interrogate language choices” for “historically oppressive connotations.”

The problem with Nanny's "unspeak" dictatorship is that it is BOLLOCKS!

The word "spooky" is NOT used as a racial slur, it is used in connection with ghosts and all manner of things to do with Halloween etc!

Facebook Bans Ken for Over 200 Million Years!

An odd thing happened to me on Facebook this Saturday afternoon.

Facebook, for reasons best known to itself, decided to ban me from posting or commenting on groups that I am not an administrator of (ie my local community group).

However, I could still post on my timeline and on a group which I administer.

Did they tell me why?

No!

How long was the ban?

A day, a week, a month?

No!

It was 219,248,447 years!

Not even Trump was banned for that long.

Anyhoo, I made my feelings clear to Facebook via Facebook and Twitter.

On Sunday morning I was unbanned, without a word of explanation or apology!

Today Facebook decided to double down on its stupidity and banned a humorous meme that I posted on my timeline (see below) in 2015, over 6 years ago!

I disagreed with their decision and they informed me I could raise with the Oversight Board, which I have now done.

It would seem that Commander Data's social network group is not as perfect as he pretends it is.

Commander Data's Censorious Attitude II - The Revenge of The Faecesbots

Back in January I wrote about Commander Data's censorious attitude, and his banning of one of my posts:

"Commander Data has gotten rather a bee in his bonnet over what people post on Faecesbook (his personal social media network) and duly banned Trump the other day for life.

Not content with banning those in the public eye, Data has set his android eyes on ordinary people. Imagine my surprise to be confronted with a threat of having my Faecesbook account restricted on Saturday."

Here we are in March, and one of Commander Data's Faecesbots has yet again taken exception to something I posted, and gave me a 30 day ban from posting and commenting.

May be an image of text that says "19:56 X 31% You can't post or comment for 30 days This is because your previous posts didn't follow our Community Standards. I duly complained, and blinkey, blonky, blimey the bot apologised an reinstated me.

All very well and tedious, but the post that the Faecesbot was complaining about was posted in May 2020!

Is Commander Data having some sort of mental breakdown?

Commander Data's Censorious Attitude

As has been widely reported by the media, Commander Data has gotten rather a bee in his bonnet over what people post on Faecesbook (his personal social media network) and duly banned Trump the other day for life.

Not content with banning those in the public eye, Data has set his android eyes on ordinary people. Imagine my surprise to be confronted with a threat of having my Faecesbook account restricted on Saturday.

For why?

For posting a photo (which, ironically, Jack Dorsey - recent photo-

allowed to be posted on Twitter).

Here is the offending photo:

An advertising poster reading “I love JK Rowling” at Waverley, Edinburgh’s main railway station , has been removed for being too “political” and potentially offensive.

Network Rail confirmed that the digital advertisement had been taken down because it breached its policy by promoting a political viewpoint.

Nanny To Ban Swing Low

Nanny's pandering to the woke classes continues apace.

The RFU are expected to call on fans to drop Swing Low, Sweet Chariot as their unofficial anthem because of its associations with slavery.

The anthem, a 19th-century African-American slave song, is the subject of a review by the Rugby Football Union. First sung at Twickenham in 1987 for Martin Offiah — a black player nicknamed “Chariots” — it has become essential at England matches.

The RFU is expected to discourage supporters from singing it.

The RFU, like others who have had knee jerk reactions, need to take a sharp intake of breath and stop acting like scared sheep.

Step forward Trevor Philips with some intelligent comments on this nonsense

Auntie Bans Little Britain - #DefundTheBBC

In a bizarre twist in the ongoing purge of all things offensive in Britain, Auntie has decided to ban and eradicate from history (ie you can no longer stream past episodes) Little Britain.

Apparently, it is offensive to the Woke classes and the banning of it allows Auntie to virtue signal to the world.

All very well and nice, except for the fact

-it was written and performed this century,
-attracted audiences of over 10 million and
-won numerous awards.

By banning it, Auntie has sent the message to her own viewers (and licence fee payers) that they are offensive.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure that at the time of production and transmission Auntie must have been well aware that it was offensive, given that it targeted more or less every type of person who lives in Britain. It seems rather odd that Nanny has taken a year or so to work that one out!

However, you can still watch it on Youtube and other parts of the net, so the ban is all but useless; but that is in effect what virtue signalling is!

Now that she has banned it, I wonder what other shows from the archives she will exhume and throw on the Woke bonfire?

Never mind, Auntie won't be around for much longer, she will be put out of her misery soon enough!

Nanny Bans Big Cocks and Large Breasted Birds

Butcher Pete Lymer with the sign outside J W Ash & Son in Leek

My sympathies to Pete Lymer, who runs J W Ash & Son butchers in Ball Haye Street Leek, who has run afoul of Nanny.

It seems that his blackboard advertising ‘big breasted birds', ‘big cocks’ and 'horny sausages' has upset someone.

Police have told him to tone it down.

Pete is quoted by Stoke On Trent Live:
"We've put the signs out for years and it's always been a bit of a laugh.

Just after Christmas apparently somebody complained to the police, saying it was offensive.

Last month a lady from the police came in and asked if we could pull our sign in. And a bobby came in last Thursday. They're just doing their job so I'm not annoyed with the individuals."
Now what is interesting is that the police deny there was a complaint, but say they were warning Pete lest someone in the future takes offence.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said:
"We’ve received no complaints about signage outside J W Ash and Son butchers in Leek.

However, the local Chief Inspector for the Moorlands did advise the owner to give careful consideration to what was written on the boards in case anyone took offence. No other action has been taken."
Therefore, if no one has complained, why are the police sticking their noses into this??
