Best Job Advert Ever
My thanks to "Black Sea" for highlighting this U. S. Department of Justice job advert for "10 experienced attorneys for the position of Trial Attorney".
Quote:
"The Civil Rights Division encourages qualified applicants with targeted disabilities to apply. Targeted disabilities are... mental retardation, mental illness..."
I assume that this style of advert will soon be taken up by Nanny here, given that some of our "governing class" already exhibit signs of mental illness.

Surely there can't be any mentally ill people left to work in hospitals or as judges- they're all working in job advertising.
ReplyDeleteA perfect illustration of the chaos that comes about if a PC agenda is blindly followed.

Surely this is business as usual? They're just being more upfront on the requirements, that is all...
ReplyDeleteI have no wish to appear discriminatory, but if I were ever to require the services of a lawywer to represent me in court, either on a civil or criminal matter, I should not be very happy if he/she suffered from mental retardation or mental illness. In my opinion, some positions are totally unsuitable for those unfortunate enough to suffer from such conditions. However, in this country, we already seem to have such people on the judiciary, considering some of the crass judgements that they make!
ReplyDeleteWhy should the mentally ill have to actually apply for these jobs. Affirmative action would ensure they were at the head of the queue - well that is if in addition they are coloured , gay, crippled and dyslexic of course.
