Ermm . . . Do you suppose that Ms. Booth/Blair would make similar allowances for those who attempt to immolate themselves and fellow passengers on trains, buses, and other forms of public transit, provided that said "martyrdom operatives" are people of iron-clad faith whose religious devotion provides a unique insight into the "rights and wrongs" surrounding such activities?

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab
ps: I've long been a fan of your blog
So what does she expect .. instant fucking Canonisation or summat ???
ReplyDeleteInstant Carbonisation would be preferable. I would love to see her struck by a bolt of lightning. Sod the greenhouse effect - the extra CO2 would be more than worth it.....
ReplyDeleteW/V "thics" - the size of her thighs?
I would argue that the "gentleman's" actions alone would suggest he is not a religious man or, at the very least, does not take his religion seriously.....I do wonder how someone that is supposed to be very clever and legally qualified can make such crass decisions....One would have thought, given her position and whom her husband is, that she would be politically aware...Judges are there to judge but, the judgement in this case must bring into question just how sound her judgement actually is.....It is my belief that a person's religion should not be taken into account when passing sentence and it could be argued that if someone tries to claim they are a good sort because they're religious, perhaps they should face a stiffer sentence as, if they live according to their religious belief, they should know better.....
