Irony Klaxon - Bags For Life Increase Plastic Usage

Oh dear, it seems that whilst sales of "bags for life" rose to 1.5bn last year the amount of plastic used by supermarkets also increased to 900,000 tonnes.

It seems that people regard "for life" as meaning disposable.

The alleged plastic waste crisis is a guilt trip being laid on the general public by the government and Z list celebrities.
No individuals make a trip to the seaside or riverbank to dispose of their plastic, but what does happen is that the government pays for the crap to be transported to dodgy countries for destruction.
China and Malaysia used to take the bulk of it, but now it is mainly sent to Poland, Indonesia and Turkey.
To think that the transportation ships don't 'lose' all or the major part of their cargo en route is naive in the extreme.
