Happy Lunar New Year

Happy Lunar New Year
The team at Nanny Knows Best would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Lunar New Year.

A Rat Year is a time of hard work, activity, and renewal. This is a good year to begin a new job, get married, launch a product or make a fresh start.

The Rat year is a year of plenty, bringing opportunity and good prospects. It will be marked by speculation and fluctuations in the prices of commodities and the stock market; the world economy in general will boom.

Business will be on the upswing, fortunes can be made and it will be an easy time to accumulate wealth.

However, this is also the time to make long-term investment plans as the bonanza the year of the Rat brings will serve to see us through the bleak years that may follow.

All ventures begun at this time will be successful, if one prepares well.

Have it large!

Ken

Be warned, the following video features a cat smoking a cigarette.

  1. Dear Ken,

Thanks for the upbeat prognostication. So much of the news is gloomy these days.

I myself was born in a Rat Year, and have been told more than once that this is fitting. I take it as a compliment, though I'm not sure it is always intended as such.

    One quick question. You say:

"This is a good year to begin a new job, get married, launch a product or make a fresh start."

In order to "accumulate wealth," must I do all of the above in the next twelve months?

In my opinion one needs to be careful about the second item on the list.

Whilst in a very few cases an appropriate partner might indeed introduce significant wealth they appear to be few and far between and the alternatives tend to to have a negative effect on wealth accumulation.

I have heard it suggested that there might be alternative benefits and that therefore one's understanding of the term "wealth" may need to be broadened. However my research amongst friends and acquaintances in recent times seems to have produced no evidence of these mysterious alternatives. Indeed quite the opposite.

    Ken,
I note the rather nifty little advert for British Airways that has appeared on your site. Presumably this is connected to your recent travel experiences?

I did attempt an enquiry for a flight from Beijing to Brentford but was surprised that the supporting program did not seem to recognise the destination. Perhaps I should try Canary Wharf rather than Brentford?

  4. I suppose that getting married might serve as the impetus for beginning a new job or launching a new product, whereas several years of marriage might explain the need to "make a fresh start."

It's the lunar calender, after all.

  5. By the way, Ken, not everybody shares your "spirited" optimism regarding the year of the Rat.

For a more ominous point of view, see: Tension, disaster, turbulence - welcome to the Year of the Rat .
