Play Nice Now - All Hail Our European Overlords

As Europe descends into anarchy, chaos and financial ruin it is "heartening" to see that our European overlords have found the time and money to produce two "jolly" little films explaining to kids how they should play with toys that only have the CE label.

BTW, as austerity bites on the continent, it is "reassuring" to know that our EU overlords have managed to protect their gravy train (eg MEPs are entitled to an annual - unreceipted - entertainment allowance of around £90K).

  1. 6000 views since November 2011 (2nd vid). Really know how to reach out to their target audience don't they.

I'm also sure that the studio who made Toy Story and the designer of Marvin the parnoid android would have a few words to say about trademarks etc.

Didn't those exploding fake tits from France have the full CE trademark ? Much good it did the thousands of women now worried about contracting cancer due to industrial chemicals seeping into their bodies.
Even if we had wanted to stop them from entering the UK market we would have been prosecuted as they were fully CE accredited.

  4. I don't think any of my toys had CE marks - should I be dead by now?

    2. As for the things I/we did in the school chemistry lab - I can still remember watching Chlorine gas wafting over the bench, across the floor and down the corridor...

      Or was it Bromine?

  5. What I see is the end result of the Whig "Glorious Revolution" when the countries in Britain went from being ruled by a fairly benign monarch to a Parliament of shopkeepers and a puppet Dutchman. The fact that Elizabeth "Windsor" was shown as some figure of fun dropping out of a plane with a parachute shows the 'monarchy' has become another marketable commodity, with the 'monarch' dragged down to the level of Mickey Mouse.
