The Danger of Mats

Mat
Oh dear I see Nanny's pet hate has vomited itself into our lives again.....I refer of course to the dangers of doormats!

Lubin Reyes, like many householders, has placed a doormat outside of his home of ten years. Sadly for him he resides in a block of flats in Bedford that are under the jackboot of Nanny.

His mat has offended Nanny (Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association) and was therefore covered in warning tape together with a sign reading "move it or lose it".

For why?

The housing association said it was a health and safety hazard.

What kind of health and safety hazard?

A fire hazard!

Mr Reyes is keeping the mat.

  1. In too many cases Nanny's coveral of 'Elf'n'Safety merely means; Shut up and do as you're told.

I think the tone of the message; move it or loose it, tells you all you need to know about the "officials" that left it.....They are clearly drunk on the power they perceive their position brings.

  2. He should nail it to the floor. Or get a metal mat and wire it to the mains.

"Fire hazard" - I recall a farm in S England that was ordered to install fire extinguishers in each of its 'production units'

Despite the difficulty of setting light to concrete tanks full of water (and trout)

(At least this ban shows that the ****s have realised the usual reasons - 'trip hazard' - or that it might fall from a balcony onto someones head - just don't cause the required level of fear any more.)

Sorry, Bucko my old mucker,to do that he would need to employ a qualified electrician. Regulations quite clearly state that all external wiring must be done by and/or approved by a qualified electrican.

Now Nanny's zombies would have a field day with that

    "move it or lose it"

Isn't this an incitement to carry out a crime, i.e theft, therefore itself a criminal offence?
