Nanny Has Driven Us To Drink

Unsurprisingly Nanny's lockdown has driven the UK to drink.

Allegedly the number of people drinking at 'high risk' levels has doubled to almost 8.5million since February, according to the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Needless to say, Nanny and the media are getting their collective knickers into a twist over the potential knock on effects to the national religion of the NHS which, remember, we are meant to die for to protect it!

Therefore we may expect (sadly) many lurid headlines about the negative consequences of drinking, and for Hancock and the dying embers of PHE to come up with tedious and intrusive rules (eg 10PM curfew) to cut our drinking.

Remember, if these figures really are true then this alleged rise was caused by Nanny herself! is brought to you by "The Living Brand"

Of course, Nanny reduced recommended levels for men by 33 percent to the same levels as the women's level. I suspect that is the real reason but Nanny loves to twist figures for her own agenda.

Here in Wales it's a double whammy from Nanny. First they introduced the ridiculous minimum alcohol price so white cider is more expensive than a cheap bottle of wine.

Then a few weeks later they closed my workplace (a church cafe) for lockdown. 7 months on and we are still closed indefinitely waiting for the Welsh Government to give us any indication of when we can come out of lockdown.

I'm not surprised that the hazardous drinking figures are so high. There are a lot of people like myself waiting to return to work, with a lot of extra time on their hands and drinking to ease the monotony.
