Question?
The poor old British public are bombarded by Nanny and her minions with propaganda about food and "healthy" eating.
On one side we are told that it is wrong to be fat.
On the other, we are told that it is wrong to be skinny.
As if this is not bad enough, the commercial "non governmental" media get in on the act; by producing shows that castigate those of us who do not fit the ideal form...whatever that is?
I have this simple question for the Channel 4 website:
Why do you pass Gillian McKeith, she of "You Are What You Eat" fame, off as a medical doctor?
Nanny succeeds because there are far too many people and organisations willing to "speak" for her, and do her bidding.
In other news, it seems that McKeith is now feeling bullied!

Quite how she has been allowed to make a pile of cash from her relatively modest investment when the qualification scam was exposed some years ago I really don't know.
ReplyDeleteIf she has any sense she should shut up and retire from view to count her cash before she blows it all, though frankly I would find it more satisfying to see it all wasted.
Even John Reid has dropped his 'Dr.' title, though I suppose now he is nothing to do with health there would be less assumptive benefit and it saves a few strokes of the pen.
Grant: I'm no fan of John Reid, but he is perfectly entitled to use Dr before his name if he so chooses. The University of Stirling maybe a relatively young university (younger than me anyhow), but it is a properly accredited one so anyone who earnt their doctorate through conducting original research is eligible to use the title Dr.
