Too "Fat" To Love

Too Nanny's hatred of "fat" people knows no bounds. Aside from castigating them via official government channels, organs of the state and encouraging the media to hound them; Nanny is forbidding "fat" (a definition that is somewhat nebulous) people from adopting children.

Damien and Charlotte Hall from Leeds have been told by their local "respected" council that Mr Hall is too fat to adopt.

Despite not looking grossly overweight (compared to many in the Western world) Mr Hall's body mass index (Nanny's pseudo and flawed eugenics measure of fatness - remember how the chicken farmers who ran Nazi Germany measured people's noses to id racial origin?) is above the council's magic number of 40.

Leeds council forbid people who have a BMI above 40 from adopting children.

The council would rather the children rot in a state run home, than be adopted by real people who would genuinely care for them and love them.

Watch the video of the couple talking about their experience here.

As I said, in another country in another era the government of the day measured people's noses; that is where we have come to!

When I saw this item reported on the state broadcaster's television news yesterday, the most offensive comment I felt, came from the local authority's spokeswoman, (Isn't it always a bloody woman?) she stated that if the gentleman could shed the weight and show the adoption official he could keep the weight off, then he could apply again.......It sounds as if the council considers these parentless children to be tradable commodities.....I hope the gentleman concerned tells the council where to get off.....I wonder if the new fat police that you blogged on yesterday Ken will have the power eventually to remove children from fat parents....For their own safety and protection of course!!

Yup, that's the tubbies added to the smokers banned from adopting. Will they get round to banning those who enjoy a G&T before and a bottle of wine with dinner because they're arbitrarily now classed as binge-drinkers?

In fact will the day come when only those who conform to a state-approved profile (blond hair/blue eyes, anyone?)are allowed to adopt?

BTW are those who run the state institutions to which these fascists are condemning children svelte non-smokers?

Well, well. We, the much put upon, vilified and denormalized smokers warned you didn't we. Yes we did. It will be you next pal. Now someone elses turn has come. They have not finished with the smokers yet, now we have third hand smoke. I wonder what next little treat they have in store for the slightly chubby. Diet camps and forced marches perhaps. All for their own good, of course.

The poor chap is a bit tubby, but nothing gross, or even to worry about.

And it has nothing to do with his fitness to adopt. Just a minute of the interview seems to reveal him as a decent, intelligent sort. If I were looking to place a child for adoption, I suspect I would look very kindly on this couple.

Jay, you make a good point, though I suspect the new ideal is rat-faced with dangly earrings, and with an invincible conceit. Check out the Shoemaker woman.

Not to mention, every female member of the government.

    The men are simply contemptible.

Gordon Brown is announce to the world's media, notice, not to parliament, that only MPs will be allowed to adopt. The scheme due to commence in the autumn will enable all MPs to have a holiday before the multi-school run-in begins
