The BBC has got to be one of the most arrogant institutions.
ReplyDeleteFor years they survived by having retailers give information about who they had sold television sets to. Those people would soon receive a letter in the post telling them that if they had not purchased a TV licence, then they would face prosecution and possible court action.
Only recently they have introduced a much advertised scheme where the public can spread the cost of a licence. Really?.....How innovative!!!! …..Only about 30 years behind everyone else.
It is not as if they have not got a whole bunch of channels that carry advertisements. Yesterday, Dave, Really, Gold Watch, Alibi…..etc….etc.
Why can’t their other channels also compete on a level playing field? It is not like the public are not used to seeing adverts.
The BBC was created to Inform, educate and entertain. However, they no longer do any of that.
Their news programmes are sanitised so as not to offend any minorities, and their entertainment programmes, especially their daytime scheduling, seems to consist of cheap soap operas with terrible actors, mind-numbingly trivial game shows, and the stream of programmes where members of the public buy crap and try to sell it at a profit.
If the BBC cannot compete with other channels, then it should be shut down.
