A Nation of Beggars

A Nation of BeggarsCongratulations to Kizzy Neal, from Torbay, who got herself pregnant at the age of 13. She says that having a baby is now regarded as "fashionable" among schoolgirls.

So much so in fact, that four of her classmates have also got themselves pregnant since Christmas.

Here's a radical suggestion, stop paying benefits; that might cure a few people of the delusion of a "fashionable" pregnancy.

We have become a nation of beggars, on our knees with our hands outstretched from cradle to grave.

Get off your knees, and take responsibility for your own lives.

Fashionable? So now instead of walking around with I-Pods or what used to be "trendy" a couple months ago, the latest thing is morning sickness and diaper bags?

Some sort of female group response I assume.

I can imagine the TV producers are lining up a cockumentary already. Followup in 13 years time to see which of them has become the youngest grandma.

I don't suppose there is any chance of the fathers being castrated is there? At least that way they would not be in a position to make the same (illegal) mistake again.

Absolutely right about withdrawing benefits: I wonder how 'fashionable' these kids would find the idea of begging on the streets?
Anyone else remember the 'sheltered accomodation' we used to supply to kids like this?
It was called 'Borstal' as I recall.....
Can't lock them away or sterilise them or castrate the randy impregnators nowadays - they got ooman rights innit?

It's nanny's policy of state care from cradle to grave.

Make people too stupid to think for themselves and they become pliable and totally dependent on nanny.

  5. Trouble is, if you took away their benefits they would probably prostitute themselves. The real answer is teach them self-respect - but that's an impossibly old-fashioned notion these days.

The little buggers know all about 'respeck' already. What we really need is a return to the 'bad old days' when people actually had some common sense, kids were acknowledged as a pain in the arse and were kept under close control because of their capacity to screw up their own lives and those of everyone around them.
There was this thing called childhood and that other thing called discipline and that even worse concept, 'What will the neighbours say?' These may all be considered uncool nowadays but they seem to have let kids grow up in their own time. The world seems to have been an awful lot safer for our kids then.

  7. My experiences as a prison officer proved the the swine have far too much 'self-respect' already.

    And sod-all for anyone else!
