The Police State We Live In
Those of you who are dismissing the arrest by 9 counter terrorism officers of Damian Green and the strip searching of Sally Murrer by Thames Valley police as being aberrations in the use of the police by the state, and not of relevance to ordinary people carrying on their ordinary everyday activities, should consider what happened to Brett Duxfield.
Mr Duxfield organised that Bonfire Night celebrations on the village green at Elwick, this went off as it usually does without a hitch.
However, two days later Nanny's police came a calling at Mr Duxfield's home, after a complaint by someone on the Parish Council (name unknown - doubtless a very "pleasant" individual) that a 130 year old bylaw banning fires on the green had been broken. Mr Duxfield was taken by polcie from his home at 8am, and had his DNA and fingerprints taken.
Couldn't such an absurd alleged offence been dealt with in a more sensible manner?
By the way, guess how many officers turned up on Bonfire night to observe the proceedings?
Two?
No!
Six?
No!
More than the Nine used to arrest Damian Green?
Yes!
According to Mr Duxfield, fourteen officers arrived at the green in uniform and protective clothing. Seemingly they were there for people's "safety".
Two days later three officers arrested him ,and he was held in police custard until 6.15PM that day.
Mr Duxfield has now appeared before Hartlepool magistrates, and was granted bail after the case was adjourned.
Errmmm...am I alone in thinking that all of this is somewhat over the top?
PS, you will be pleased to know the the villagers have extracted some form of vengeance on the Parish Council. A public meeting was held and two councillors have been forced to resign.

It is worth remembering that some of the worst excesses in the Roman Empire, Stalin's Russia and Nazi Germany, not to mention other similar 'Utopias' were carried out with the aid od informers, often paid for their 'services' to society. In view of recent happenings, it is clear that nuLabour, along with the police and local authorities, are adopting these policies here: divide and rule, all in for 'public protection' of course!
ReplyDeleteAs for those councillors who were forced to resign, since a 130 year old law was invoked, perhaps a 130 year old punishment for them would be appropriate.
The old British hate of a grass seems to be consigned to history. Nanny and her chums are setting up grass lines here there and everywhere....We are bombarded via the TV and radio by Nanny's advertising that tells us what to do and what will happen if we ignore her wishes....Often she also says that should you know of someone not doing what Nanny says, then she has a grass line so that you can grass them up....
ReplyDeleteWhen I speak to Labour supporters, I always ask this; Given Labours anti authoritarian stance during the last Conservative government, how would you have acted had Mrs Thatcher or Mr Major brought in such laws as those we are seing intoduced by this Labour government?
I'm glad to see that the villagers got their own back on the "council"!! That, of course, is what we should ALL be doing...voting the b*stards out wheever they forget WE employ THEM!
ReplyDeleteNext year they should burn down the police station.

They'd have been the first to squeal and oppose them, manning tbe barricades and picket lines and encouraging all manner of (not necessarily peaceful) protests! Shows what a bunch of two-faced hypocrites nuLabour is, in my opinion.
