Girls With Guns Deemed Sexist
Commiserations to Greater Manchester Police for drawing the ire of Twitter after posting a tweet (see image above) to highlight its girls with guns campaign (designed to remind people that women can also carry guns).
Twitter erupted, as Twitter often does, with certain people bemoaning that fact that the tweet was "sexist".

Nanny Bans Dildos, But Allows Guns - #CocksNotGlocks
As loyal readers know, Nanny can be absurd at times.
However, kudos to Nanny's chums in the Lone Star State in the USA for raising the bar on absurdity.
More than 1,000 people have RSVP’d to attend an unusual protest at the University of Texas. In protest of a law that permits students to carry concealed weapons on campus, students are going to come to class wielding dildos.
Nanny's chum, Greg Abbot, signed the legislation into law last June. The description for the protest’s event page reads:
“On June 1, 2015, Gov. Greg Abbott signed S.B. 11, also known as the ‘campus carry’ law. S.B. 11 provides that license holders may carry a concealed handgun throughout university campuses, starting Aug. 1, 2016. The law gives public universities some discretion to regulate campus carry.”
More than 160 professors at the university signed a letter speaking
out against the law. One professor even went as far as to resign over
the matter. The organisers of the protest want to point out the fact
that while it would be perfectly fine for a student to carry a gun into
the classroom, bringing a dildo in would get them in trouble. So now
students are calling for people to take up the cry
As per Addicting Info:
“The State of Texas has decided that it is not at all obnoxious to allow deadly concealed weapons in classrooms, however it DOES have strict rules about free sexual expression, to protect your innocence. The protest is scheduled to take place on August 24 2016, so you have plenty of time to select the dildo of your choice!
You would receive a citation for taking a DILDO to class before you would get in trouble for taking a gun to class. Heaven forbid the penis.”

The Danger of Dildos
It being a gloomy, grey and dismal Monday morning what better way to cheer us all up than to read a gemusing tale of how Nanny jailed a yob for five years for brandishing a dildo during a street row.
Court News reports that Ian Poulton was reported to police, as he was having a row with another person in the street, by panicked neighbours who thought that a dildo tucked into his waistband was a gun.
Given the perceived nature of the threat fifteen officers armed with machine guns swooped on him as he walked along a street in Telford, Shropshire, on May 22.
Passing sentence, Judge Robin Onions said:
"It was clearly not a gun, be it imitation or real.Poulton, compounding his offence, put up resistance when officers tried to arrest him and damaged a police car in the scuffle.
It was an entirely innocent object.
It was the defendant’s intention to deceive.
Witnesses thought it was a firearm so he has to take the consequences."
He admitted possessing an imitation firearm (the dildo) with intent to cause fear of violence, criminal damage and assault causing actual bodily harm.
Poulton, of Mill Bank, Wellington, Shropshire, further admitted criminal damage to a laptop, aggravated vehicle taking, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault on a neighbour, all committed in July.

WH Smith Prattery Continues
Loyal readers will doubtless recall that last week I wrote about WH Smith's policy of not selling shooting magazines to those who were 14 or under.
One loyal reader then sent me a video of his 9 year old daughter being blocked from purchasing the magazine.
My thanks to the same loyal reader who has sent me video II of his daughter this time also being refused the purchase of a computer games magazine (why?), but being allowed to buy "20 Blood Chilling Murder Cases" (a real life crime magazine).

Prats of The Week - WH Smith
Gadzooks, it is Tuesday already, time to award another of my prestigious and internationally renowned "Prats of The Week" Awards.
This week it goes to WH Smith for kowtowing to Animal Aid, and banning under 14s from buying magazines about hunting and shooting.
According to the "logic" postulated by Animal Aid, magazines such as Shooting Times are pro violence, and "corrode" young minds.
WH Smith of course continues to sell books and magazines about war, which they are happy enough to sell to kids. These being the same kids who will sit through hours of violence shown on TV news and soap operas.
The irony is if WH Smith follows Animal Aid's wishes to the letter, it will not only ban under 14s from buying the magazines but place them on the top shelf by the porn.
Now what sort of message does that send to a "young mind"?
Guns and porn, forbidden therefore very exciting!
Hardly a healthy message/combination is it?
WH Smith, well deserving Prats of The Week!

Prats of The Week - Sherborne Police
Ohh Err Missus, it's midweek and I have yet to award one of my prestigious, and internationally renowned, Prats of The Week awards.
Therefore without further ado, I hereby award it this week to the Sherborne Police.
For why?
Just ask Mark Ashley-Miller, who runs a gift shop (The Present Finder) in Sherbrone.
A year ago Mr Ashley- Miller began selling calculators that were shaped like guns. Someone recently saw them in the shop and complained to the firearms police.
Can you guess what happened next children?
Yes, that's right, the police raided Mr Ashley-Miller's shop/warehouse and confiscated 30 calculators and various toy guns.
The police assessed the 'weapons' to decide if they should be destroyed or returned to the shop, and have now decided that they can be sold and are to return them to Mr Ashley-Miller.
The £6.50 'gun' calculator has a calculator keypad on the handle and an LCD display on the barrel. The user has to pull the trigger to calculate their sums. Here is a link to the website where you can buy a Gun Calculator.
Technically Mr Ashley-Miller might have been in breach of the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006. However, given that he has been selling the gun calculators for almost a year, it is strange that the police have not warned him before about this or checked them.
In fact 370 of the gun calculators have already been sold, therefore (in theory) a large number of families may be expecting a visit from the Firearms Police.
Anyhoo, the calculators are to be returned.
A waste of time and resources!

Nanny Bans Replica Guns
In this age of fear and panic, whipped up by Nanny and a careless/slipshod media, it should come as no surprise to learn that there are elements of society who cower behind their curtains fearful of deranged gunmen and terrorists wandering the streets ready to slaughter thousands.
Common sense, and the concept of looking at the statistical probability of being shot/blown up have been thrown out of the window.
This point is amply demonstrated by the recent problems arising in Pickering, in Ryedale Yorkshire, over their regular war weekend where people dress in wartime uniform, complete with replica Second World War firearms.
Needless to say, one resident has got herself worked up by Nanny's scare stories and complained about the replica guns.
Margaret Devonshire wrote to both the town council and Ryedale's police commander, Inspector Helen Taylor, asking for the weapons to be banned.
She said:
"Why does the council allow people to roam the streets of Pickering during the war weekend, holding guns?
In this day and age when you can't tell the difference between a real and a replica gun, it should not be allowed and the council should ban them."
Miss Devonshire made the same complaint last year too, something of a hobby for her by the sound of it.
She went on:
"With all the shootings and killings in this country, we should be thinking of our own youngsters and trying to protect them. I am not a fanatic, but someone who totally dislikes guns and the danger they bring, and I object to them on the streets of Pickering for any reason.
I want Pickering to be a safe town to live in and not one where people can carry guns.
Can you imagine how easy it would be for a 'nutter' to wander around our streets with a gun and end up shooting someone because he was able to carry a real gun, everyone thinking it was a replica."
Former mayor Coun Margaret Lowe joined in:
"We take such a lot on trust. We have thousands of visitors come into Pickering for the weekend. Such an incident could happen."
Indeed it could, maybe, but then again it could happen if the maniac concealed his weapon too.
The banning of the prominent display of guns will not alter the risk of a nutter wandering down the street with a concealed weapon, and shooting the place up.
The ban only assuages the fears in the minds of a few paranoid people, by taking away the public display of an object that they dislike.
The risk factor of being slaughtered has not changed one iota!
The mayor, Coun Julie Hepworth, caught the paranoia too:
"We should probably stop and think about this.
We are seeing young people dying on our streets."
Yes we are seeing young people dying on the streets (not thousands though), but these young people are usually involved in gang violence and are invariably being killed by knives.
Guns or knives used in these gang killings are concealed, therefore again the risk factor will not change simply because you have banned the public display of replica weapons at a special event.
Why are other events around the country allowed to proceed?
Cutlasses are used during a seafaring festival in Whitby, and the Sealed Knot battle re-enactment group used muskets and pikes.
Using Miss Devonshire's "logic", all films that are shot in public places would have to ban replica guns and weapons too.
The police check the replicas for use at the war weekend first.
Sgt Gary Ridler, of Ryedale police, said:
"The issue of the de-activated weapons has been broached on numerous occasions and we are normally given due notice that the relevant people will be carrying them.
There are no offences being committed."
Therefore in order for someone to bring in a real gun, he would have to conceal it; which is exactly what he would do on a non war weekend.
Again, to repeat myself, the risk factor for being slaughtered by a nutter does not change by banning replica weapons at this one off event.
As ever in the Nanny state, one person with an axe to grind over "risk" seems to have a disproportionate amount of influence over the majority.
That is not a healthy state of affairs.

Guns Are Good
I myself used to have a fine collection of bows and arrows, swords, a machine gun, a rifle and various cap guns.
These days, Nanny's chums in nursery schools etc try to feminise boys by forbidding such "nasty" little games as "war" and "cops and robbers" etc.
Now Nanny herself has stepped in, and the Department for Children, Schools and Families has said that staff should resist a "natural instinct" to stop such play.
It says role playing helps create the right conditions for boys' learning, and could help them become more engaged in education in the future.
The guidance (entitled Confident, Capable and Creative: Supporting Boys' Achievements) says "practitioners" often find boys' chosen type of play "more difficult to understand and value than that of girls".
Boys regularly use "images and ideas gleaned from the media" as starting points in play, the advice says, which "may involve characters with special powers or weapons".
Quite!
Needless to say, the dinosaurs in the teaching unions are behind the times as ever.
Chris Keates, general secretary of the NASUWT teachers' union, said:
"I think this is a clear example
of gender stereotyping.
I do not think schools should be encouraging
boys to play with toy weapons."
When will the teachers' union ever learn?

Nanny Bans Bonfires
The 5th of November
Gun Powder Treason and Plot etc
Tis Guy Fawkes night and, as is tradition, thousands of homes across the country will be preparing bonfires and fireworks parties to celebrate the disemboweling and burning to death of a 17th century terrorist.
Halcyon days!
To be fair, the tradition of bonfire lighting goes back many more centuries than just the 17th. Bonfires were used in the bleak mid winter months to cheer people up, and to celebrate good news.
However, we live in 21st century Nanny Britain now; as such it should come as no surprise that Nanny's minions in her local councils disapprove of such frivolity.
Nanny's chums in Slough Borough Council have banned bonfires and burning Guys from its 5th November celebrations.
What is wrong with burning the effigy of someone who is dead?
There are many countries in the world where effigies of people, who are still alive, are burnt on an almost daily basis.
Anyhoo, Nanny's trolls in Slough Borough Council claim that the polluting effects of smoke would go against its environmental policies, but said rather perversely that it would still display fireworks.
Now tell me I am stupid, but aren't the sulphurous emissions from fireworks equally polluting?
There are some cynics out there who do not believe Slough's rather dodgy explanation, the cynics claim that the change has been ordered so as not to exclude ethnic minorities.
Frankly, if that is true, it sounds a bit half baked to me.
The council have denied the charge, and said the decision was based on environmental concerns alone.
Councillor Dexter Smith, the council's commissioner for planning, said there was a "responsibility to look after our environment and reduce our carbon footprint".
One night, one bonfire!
Seriously, how much of a difference will that make to the world?
It's our farking cultural heritage to set fire to things!
Happy Bonfire Night folks!

Prats of The Week
This week it goes to the police in Balham and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), who decided to prosecute a schoolboy for using a rubber band to ping his mate with a piece of paper/cardboard.
Unfortunately for both boys, the paper/cardboard hit the target's eye and caused some temporary damage....Nanny then waded in....you can guess the rest.
Now read on...
The boy (12 years old), from Balham South London, was flicking bits of paper with rubber bands and hit a friend in the eye.
The paper flicking happened in June, and the boy was suspended from school for three days.
A week later Nanny called him to police station, arrested him and questioned for four hours before charging him on 20 July.
The injured boy suffered swelling and bruising to the eye and experienced some bleeding, the CPS said. That of course is highly unfortunate. However, accidents do happen and boys will flick bits of paper at each other...in my day we had "spud guns" which fired pieces of potato using compressed air.
In a statement on the case the CPS said:
"The CPS brought the initial charge
because we were informed that the boy
had lost sight in one eye.
There also appeared to be an
intention to cause harm.
When the medical evidence confirmed that
there was no permanent damage to the eye,
the charge was downgraded to assault.
After further review a decision was taken
to discontinue the case as being not in
the public interest in view of the boys'
ages and the effect of a court case on them."
The boy's solicitor Richard Conley accused the police and CPS of showing a "complete loss of perspective" on the case.
Quote:
"Sadly, this is an increasingly common story
where the pressure to be seen to be taking
action results in a blinkered approach.
As well as the financial costs,
the greater cost is the loss of confidence
in and respect for the police and the
Courts that these cases cause."
The 12 year old who fired the paper, suffers from mild epilepsy, and had three "significant seizures" and required hospital treatment due to stress, his mother said.
She said:
"He was incredibly upset as
he didn't mean to hurt him,
it was a game and they were
flicking paper at each other and laughing."
Like it or not, boys do stupid things like this all the time. On the assumption that genuine remorse was shown, and that the other boy accepted that it was an accident, the actions of the police and CPS are worthy of the "Prats of The Week" Award.
However, if anyone has greater insight into this story, I would be happy to have them posted in the comments box.

Gang Culture
As Nanny and her lackeys in the media work themselves up into a frenzy over the "gang culture", that we are told is sweeping Britain; it is time for a little pause for thought as to why we have groups of teenage lads huddling together on the streets in gangs, and what might be done.
- It's not a new phenomena, look to Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet was basically a love story set amongst gang violence. Less hysteria from the media and politicians is needed.
- Teenage males need strong male role models. When they have no strong male at home (be it biological father or father figure), they will seek role models elsewhere. This of course flies against the face of Nanny's love affair with single parents.
- Parents who allow their teenage children to roam the streets at night, need to be "reminded" that this is a sure fire way for teenagers to find themselves in trouble.
Where the parents continue to allow their kids to roam at will at night (and those kids are found to be getting into trouble with the law), appropriate action against the parents needs to be taken. That which is most of value to the parents should be seized, ie pc's, TV's, CD collection, mobile phones etc.
After that, target their benefits. - Those that would seek to mentor and act as strong male role models for these youths (eg scout masters, youth centre workers etc) are put off by Nanny's myriad rules and regulations re interaction with children.
Nanny and the media now assume that all males who wish to interact with under 18's are potential paedophiles, the rules set up by Nanny to weed out the small minority of people who are paedophiles are putting off the majority of those who aren't. The rules need to be changed. - Nanny's middle class abhorrence of boxing has led to the closure of boxing rings, both in gyms and above pubs. These were ideal places for teenage males to be trained to handle their aggression and to take some pride in themselves, under the guidance of a male mentor. Bring back the boxing gym.
- Nanny's dislike of competitive team sports has led to a decline in group after school sports clubs; eg football etc. These team games are an ideal way for teenage males to bond and to learn to handle their aggression, plus let off steam. Competitive team sports need to be assertively encouraged.
- The feminisation of schooling, whereby male teachers are on the decline, again leads to trouble. Teenage males need a strong hand, that is best delivered and administered by a strong male teacher. More male teachers are required.
On the assumption that we as a society do not intend to start sterilising people, or sealing off deprived areas with watch towers and fences, then the only option we have is to take the time and trouble to address the issues above and reverse the damage that Nanny has done.
We will hear a lot from Nanny, and the media, in the coming weeks over this. Brown will tell us that he will ensure that gun crime is eliminated, and that the gang culture will be eradicated.
However, unless his solutions cover the above issues, there will be no change for the good whatsoever.

No More Heroes
Poor old Prince Charles, not only does Sainsbury's ban his carrots, but Nanny bans his choice of road names for Poundbury.
Poundbury is the Prince's "model village" in Dorset. All Charles wanted to do was to give some recognition to local war heroes, by naming the streets after them. The Prince also hoped to commemorate battles in which the local regiment, known as the Dorsets, took part.
Unfortunately, this being Nanny Britain, nothing is ever as simple as that. Nanny's chums on Dorchester Town Council's planning committee (ah yes, another local council making a thorough nuisance of itself!) rejected the suggestions. Instead they want to have the streets named after farms owned by the Duchy of Cornwall estate.
All very well, but Poundbury is not a "farming village", therefore naming the streets after farms has no special relevance.
Fiona Kent-Ledger, the chairman of the planning committee, said:
"We just suggested to the Duchy that we didn't think
they were suitable names for Poundbury.
The Duchy came to us when the development first started,
asking us about what we thought of street names.
They came up with the idea of using Duchy estates
and farms as names and we thought that was very fitting.
Because of this we didn't think it was suitable
to now put up names associated with the
Devonshire and Dorset Regiment in Poundbury.
It is not for political reasons.
It is just trying to be practical about where
names are used because once they are there,
they are there forever."
She said that no vote had been taken, because it was obvious that everyone was in agreement.
Really?
I don't know about anyone else reading the above "explanation" from the council, but I am none the wiser as to why they have rejected the suggested names. It seems to me that the decision was based on a political motive.
The snub has infuriated local veterans, who say that it is an insult to brave men and women who were prepared to give their lives for their country.
Derek Julian, a former Dorset regiment soldier, who fought in Korea and proposed the names to the Duchy, said:
"This decision has brought shame on Dorchester.
The council has insulted the regiment
and veterans are appalled".
The list of names included Victoria Cross winners and a trooper who survived the Charge of the Light Brigade.
If Dorset won't honour their names, we can at least do so on this site.
The names included Trooper Thomas Warr, who rode with the 600 members of the Light Brigade into the "Valley of Death" at the Battle of Balaclava; Private Samuel Vickery, of the Dorsetshire Regiment, who was awarded the Victoria Cross for the daring rescue of a comrade under fire during an action in India in 1897; and Captain Lionel Queripel, who was seriously wounded at Arnhem in 1944 but stayed behind to help to cover the retreat of his men.
Private Samuel Vickery, of the 1st Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment was awarded the Victoria Cross for the rescue of a comrade under enemy fire in India in 1897
Trooper Thomas Warr, who died in Dorchester in 1916 aged 87, was one of the last survivors of the Charge of the Light Brigade when the British cavalry was cut to pieces by Russian guns during the Battle of Balaclava in 1854. Old Tom died penniless in Dorchester in 1916 and was soon forgotten but his grave was refurbished before a special ceremony by his old regiment last year
Seaman Joseph Kellaway, a Dorset-born Royal Navy boatswain, won the Victoria Cross in the Crimea in 1855 after taking on 50 Russians almost single-handed. He landed in a small boat on the shores of the Sea of Azov with orders to burn some haystacks and a farm building. Within minutes Kellaway and four seamen from HMS Wrangler were surrounded by soldiers. Despite a furious onslaught of musket fire Kellaway, 29, went to the aid of two wounded comrades and held off the Russians until his powder ran dry. Kellaway, was presented with the newly instituted Victoria Cross by Queen Victoria at a ceremony in Hyde Park.
Captain Lionel Queripel, of the 10th Parachute Battalion, was wounded in the face and arms by withering German fire during nine hours of fierce fighting at Arnhem in 1944. He was awarded a posthumous VC for fighting on with hand grenades and a revolver to cover the retreat of his men. He was not seen alive again.
Captain Gerald O'Sullivan won the VC for leading an attack on a Turkish trench during the Gallipoli campaign in 1915. He was killed two months later.
Sarah Sands was a troop ship which caught fire in the Indian Ocean in 1857. Queen Victoria honoured the Dorsets who helped to fight the blaze.
Funny though, that despite Nanny's distaste for honouring battles and soldiers, she still sends our young men out to die in foreign fields.
Dorchester Council should hang their heads in shame.

Prat of The Week
This week's prestigious "Prat of The Week Award" goes to none other than the Prime Minister himself, Bliary Poppins. The astute amongst you will notice that the "Prat of The Week Award" is rarely made on a weekly basis, but it's my award and I do with it what I will!
However, I digress.
The reason that Bliary has been given this prestigious award, is for his slimy expression of "sorrow" for the slave trade. Far from feeling "sorrow", Bliary should be proudly reminding people that Britain was one of the first countries in the modern world to abolish slavery.
Britain abolished slavery in 1807. Indeed from the abolition of slavery until the early years of the 20th Century, the Royal Navy's West Africa Squadron sailed up and down the African coast, intercepting foreign ships carrying slaves.
Some of Britain's historical wealth has been built on the slave trade, that is for sure. However, most other countries have had their wealth built on the slave trade as well, at some stage or another, viz:
- The USA needed a civil war to end it, indeed the civil rights movement was still fighting for decent treatment of black people in the 1960's
- Nazi Germany used slave workers in its factories during the last war
- Blood diamonds from Africa are mined by children and other unfortunates at the point of a gun
- Japan in the last war used sex slaves from China
- Ancient Greece used slaves
- East European countries are exporting sex slaves, on a daily basis, to the West
- Ancient Rome used Greek slaves etc etc
Will they fark!
You should no more regret the actions and policies of past centuries than you should regret the invention of gunpowder, the bow and arrow or the atomic bomb. What is done is done, move forward and look to the future.
As said, Bliary richly deserves the Prat of The Week Award.
By the way, in case you were wondering, Prescott is in charge of planning next year's anniversary events to mark the abolition of slavery!

Slaves
As such she always looks out for opportunities to try to "rubbish" the past, with the intent of trying to make her "brave new world" look more acceptable.
Her chums in English Heritage have been recently doing their bit to expunge history, they are working on a project to highlight the links between landmark buildings and slavery.
Researchers will scour the history of stately homes and other sites looking for connections to the slave trade, which was banned in Britain 200 years ago next year.
FYI, Britain was the first country in the world to ban the slave trade. Oddly enough, it still continues in some parts of Africa and has experienced something of a modern renaissance in the spawning of the sex slave industry in Eastern Europe and the Far East.
However, we must never allow facts to get in the way of one of Nanny's "bright ideas".
One of the English Heritage's commissioners, Maria Adebowale, claimed that the project would help people recognise how much of Britain's historical wealth was built on "human misery".
Maybe so, but then again most other countries have had their wealth built on the slave trade as well, at some stage or another, viz:
- The USA needed a civil war to end it, indeed the civil rights movement was still fighting for decent treatment of black people in the 1960's
- Nazi Germany used slave workers in its factories during the last war
- Blood diamonds from Africa are mined by children and other unfortunates at the point of a gun
- Japan in the last war used sex slaves from China
- Ancient Greece used slaves
- Ancient Rome used Greek slaves etc etc
Will she fuck!
In fact, some of Nanny's ministers are considering whether to issue an apology to coincide with next year's abolition bicentenary.
Opponents of such moves claim historical apologies or compensation make no sense, and point to Britain's leading role in stamping out the slave trade as well as the part played by African tribes which profited from selling slaves to foreign traders.
Many of English Heritage's sites are stoneage monuments, medieval castles or abbeys; which raises the other question as to what the fark is the point of this futile exercise?
Next up, I guess the Italians will be apologising to Greeks for their slave trade?
