WTF!

I see that prison inmates in Wales are threatening legal action against prison chiefs.

For why?

Because they only get Sky Sports One, showing Premier League football matches, in jail.

They want Sky Two and Three as well!

The prisoners have lodged a formal complaint to warders at HMP Parc in Bridgend to get other pay-to-view sports channels as well for free.

Ironically some warders at the Category B prison say they cannot afford Sky Sports at home.

Well, if they win this one then I give up!

  1. Just as the lunatics have taken over the asylums, so the inmates have taken over the jails.

There are many people that can't afford many things and are forced to hand over tax to provide those same things for the irresponsible but, I would hope that the taxpayer would not have to pick up the bill for this one in fact, I would hope that, now the inmates have highlighted the fact they get Sky Sports, it is taken off them all together as part of the austerity cuts after all, many people that had premium channels have had to give them up to reduce overheads, and we're all in it together; by "it" I mean the soft brown stuff!

I was under the impression that there were very few television sets in Wales, and that the people that had these ‘magic picture boxes’ spent most of the time looking around the back of them to see where the tiny people were coming from.

Nevertheless, the inmates should have access to sports channels, but as part of their punishment, only be allowed to watch the Welsh football squad play.

Yes, I've just had to do so. Why the f*** should prisoners get luxuries like that???

I was under the (evidently deluded) belief that prison was actually supposed to be a punishment. Therefore, instead of giving convicted criminals (which is what prisoners are) all these luxuries, perks and privileges while they are inside, theeir sentence should include 8 hours of hard labour every day. That would not only reduce the problem of overcrowding in prisons, but also reduce the crime rate, as few would want a second helping! Oh, and if the yuman rites lobby don't like it, TOUGH!

As cells are considered to be a prisoner's 'residence' then they should be forced to buy a TV license like every other bugger.
