Milk Is For White Supremacists

I think I need to say very little about this, other than Peta is quite clearly batshit crazy!

Nanny Orders Everyone To Take Vitamin D Supplements

According to research carried out by the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN), everyone should consider taking vitamin D supplements in autumn and winter.

Nanny's sets the recommended levels at 10 micrograms of the vitamin a day.

Now a long time ago, before Nanny came along, most people who had normal diets and exposed themselves to the sun were able to ingest enough vitamin D without the need for supplements.

However, the main sources of vitamin D are sunlight, dairy products, eggs etc.

Can you tell me children what the problem with the above list is?

Yes, that's right, Nanny hates all of the above and has lectured us day and night to avoid sunlight, dairy products and eggs.

In other words the current estimates of one in five adults and one in six children in England having low levels of vitamin D are most likely caused by Nanny's advice wrt sunshine and food products!

The solution to living a healthy, happy life is to ignore everything that Nanny tells you.

Milk Is Good For You, Milk Is Bad For You

Milk used to be recommended by Nanny for building strong bones and healthy teeth. Indeed, in the days of my childhood, free milk was distributed at primary school.

Now, thanks to Nanny's obsession with all things pertaining to what we eat and rink, milk has been declared to be dangerous.

A study conducted by Professor Karl Michaelsson, of Uppsala University Sweden, has suggested that it does little to strengthen bones and can double the risk of an early death.

The study that tracked 61,000 women and 45,000 men for 20 years found there was no reduction in broken bones for those who consumed the most milk. Those who drank three glasses or more a day (680ml) were twice as likely to die early than those who consumed less than one.

Professor Michaelsson is quoted by the Telegraph:
“Our results may question the validity of recommendations to consume high amounts of milk to prevent fragility fractures. A higher consumption of milk in women and men is not accompanied by a lower risk of fracture and instead may be associated with a higher rate of death.”
However, one study should not a public policy make!
Read his words carefully, and you will see the use of the word "may"; ie he is not sure.
Thus before certain obsessive food fascists jump on their horses and tell us to stop drinking milk, let us just work to the maxim that a sensible and well balanced diet is the best way to enjoy your life and your food.
I drank three pints of milk a day, when I was a kid, and it never did me any harm!

Nanny Bans Crates

BS
My sympathies to the pupils of Wychwood Primary who, for the last 15 years, have managed to find innocent fun and entertainment (imaginary cars, boats houses etc) with milk crates donated to them by the local milkman.

Alas and alack, Dairy Crest (which now owns the milk company that once provided the crates) have now banned the use of these crates and have seized those (without telling the school) that were within the grounds of the school.

For why?

Health and Safety!

Two points here:

1 The crates were in fact the previous milk company's (ie they are not the property of Dairy Crest), are Dairy Crest therefore not guilty of theft then?

2 No child has ever been hurt playing with the crates.

Dairy Crest claim that there are health and safety regulations that are applicable.

Errrm..would they care to specify exactly what law applies in this case?

I will wager no such regulation exists!

Nanny Bans, Then Unbans Bitty

Now here is a rather bizarre story concerning breast milk (can I say "breast" on this site?).

Westminster council got their knickers in a twist recently over "Baby Gaga" ice cream, which was served at Icecreamists in Covent Garden.

For why?

This icecream contains breast milk.

Seemingly two members of the public complained about it, and the council banned it whilst sending some samples away for testing.

The result?

It's perfectly safe (if somewhat bizarre).

The council have now unbanned it.

BTW, wondering why Nanny banned it with just two complaints?

It seems, if the reports are accurate, that Lady Gaga began proceedings against Icecreamists claiming that the ice cream is "nausea-inducing" and "intended to take advantage of her reputation and goodwill".

Nanny Unbans Dairy

Those of you of a certain age (mid 40's and beyond) will doubtless recall the health advice of the era when we were kiddy winkies, about the benefits of drinking milk and eating dairy products.

Indeed, the state even gave children free milk each day in school. Government cuts in the early 70's put paid to the free milk, but the advice about the benefits of consuming dairy products continued.

NB: Historical note, contrary to the popular myth of the time, Maggie Thatcher was not the person responsible for cutting free school milk (she had to implement the policy); it was Ted Heath who ordered it to be cut.

Anyhoo, up to the age of around 14 or so I was consuming around 3 pints of milk a day at home and look at me now!

As time moved on Nanny, in her infinite wisdom, took advice from so called "medical experts" who decreed that milk and dairy products were in fact bad for people.

The "Butchers' profession" has a higher than average percentage of people who are substance abusers (ie booze, fags and drugs). Quite why Nanny is so enthralled with their advice, everytime they change their mind about something, I don't know (remember they used to be very keen on bleeding people).

Anyhoo, plus ca change, the Butchers' profession has now decreed that dairy products are in fact good for children. Children who eat plenty of dairy foods such as milk and cheese can expect to live longer, according to a study by the University of Bristol and Australia's Queensland Institute of Medical Research.

Despite dairy containing artery furring fat and cholesterol, high consumption does not raise the heart disease risk!

I could have told Nanny that!

Needless to say not everyone wants to accept this, Joanne Murphy of The Stroke Association said:

"This is an interesting study, but we need to take a further look to really assess the benefits of milk in reducing the chances of dying from stroke.

In the meantime, we advise parents to opt for a diet rich in fruit and vegetables and low in saturated fat and salt for the overall health of their children
."

Piffle!

As I have often said on this site, fat is good for you. A car engine without oil seizes up. The same applies to the human body, fat in the veins helps the blood flow more easily;)

The Nipple Nazis Strike Again

The Nipple Nazis Strike AgainThe Nipple Nazis have launched a nasty personal attack on Jordan, this week.

Her crime?

Having the temerity to be photographed feeding her baby with a bottle...then for good measure happily noting that she has crate loads of bottles and teats, which she throws away when used.

The sanctimonious outpourings from the Nipple Nazis, about Jordan's bottle, positively made me retch.

They even stomped off to the advertising standards agency with a copy of the magazine in which Jordan was photographed, to complain.

Nothing is more nauseating than a group of people who, so convinced of their own moral superiority, castigate all others who do not subscribe 100% to their view.

Nanny Bans Formula

Nanny Bans FormulaOnce Nanny had succeeded in banning smoking, I knew that it would not be very long before she turned her attention to banning something else (eg fat, booze). Sure enough, she has fixated on something else that she feels should be banned.

However, I never thought that it would be baby milk formula.

A coalition of Nanny type charities is demanding (note; "demanding" was the word used by the BBC, so it must be true) baby milk be treated like tobacco and subjected to a total advertising ban.

Whenever I hear the word "demand" in a statement from Nanny or her acolytes, I instinctively reach for my sick bag.

How farking arrogant and simple minded of these people!

Who do they think they are to "demand" anything???

I have to say, what society or planet do they inhabit?

Does it not occur to them that we actually live in a "democracy" and free market economy. Unless a product/service is actually illegal (eg heroin) it is perfectly within the remit of the law and society's mores for companies to advertise a product/service in order to create a demand for that product/service.

It's called the free farking market, get used to it Nanny!

Anyhoo, Nanny's chums in The National Childbirth Trust (NCT), Save The Children and Unicef are blaming adverts (how convenient) for many mothers abandoning breast feeding before the recommended six months.

These charities, who reside in Lah Lah Land, want Nanny to extend a ban on infant milk adverts to include "follow-on" milks for older babies.

Companies are currently not allowed to advertise formula milk for babies under six months.

Needless to say this little outburst by these people will do nothing for the self esteem of mothers who move on to feeding their sprogs with a bottle. Many mothers already feel an immense sense of guilt and failure when they move on to the bottle. This is standard Nanny tactics, make people feel worthless and guilty about their lives; that way they are easier to manipulate and can be made to depend on Nanny.

The charities are trying to compare milk companies to fag companies; note the subtle Nazi style word association/word dropping that they use, "tobacco companies" "loopholes" "cigarette" "exploit" "aggressively", so that people subconsciously start to feel a sense of revulsion over milk formula companies.

Here is Belinda Phipps, of the NCT, doing her bit for the propaganda machine:

"In similar ways to how tobacco companies found

their way through loopholes in legislation

restricting the advertising of cigarette promotion,

formula milk companies are finding ways to

exploit ambiguity in the law and to continue

aggressively marketing their products to parents
."

Dr Ellie Lee of the University of Kent, who has actually bothered to do some research, said the impact of advertising on the decision to switch from breast to bottle was "negligible".

Dr Lee found that the decision to bottle feed was a "pragmatic decision based on personal circumstances".

"Some do it because of the pain

of feeding or so they can feed their

child at more regular intervals,

some so they can share responsibility for

feeding the baby, others because they are

thinking of going back to work.

Many mothers feel an immense sense of guilt

and failure when they move on to the bottle,

and this latest debate about advertising

is likely to make them feel even worse
."

In other words, it is a decision that is best left to the individual to make based on her own personal circumstances. The trouble is that "individual decision making", whereby people think and decide for themselves, is an anathema to Nanny.
