Nanny Takes Offence

Nanny Takes OffenceIt seems that Nanny takes offence very easily these days.

So what? You may ejaculate (can I say "ejaculate"?).

Well my loyal readers, just ask the unnamed IT boss who was arrested in November by police for an email sent by one of his staff to Rother District Council wrt a planning appeal by a "traveller".

The "offensive" email contained the phrase:

"It's the 'do as you likey' attitude that I am against."

"Likey" rhymes with "pikey", and the council deemed that enough to tell Hastings police. Note, the "traveller" who is bringing the planning appeal did not complain about the email.

The police duly obliged the council and arrested the unnamed man (believing it was he who sent the email), held him for 4 hours took his DNA, his fingerprints, his/his wife's computers etc. It then transpired that the hapless detainee had not sent the email, but one of his staff (Paul Osmond) did.

Despite this, according to the Mail, police will be holding the DNA of the innocent man indefinitely.

Mr Osmond was then arrested and bailed. However, he has now been told that there would be no further police action.

Time and money well spent then!

The Doctor is In

The Doctor is In
Those of you who are fed up with the waiting lists to see doctors and dentists could consider becoming a traveller.

Nanny has advised primary health care trusts to fast track travellers above other patients.

Seemingly, under race laws, gypsies and travellers are defined as minority ethnic groups and the NHS is obliged to consider their special needs and circumstances.

The irony is that no other ethnic group receives such special treatment.

The Department of Health is quoted in The Mail:

"This should not be to the detriment of service provision to the settled community."

So that's alright then?

No it's not alright, the NHS just about manages to "function" with the exponential demand for its services by rationing them. Rationing only works if everyone is treated equally.

This is a recipe for disaster.

Prats of The Week - The £500K Sound Barrier

Prats of The WeekGoodness me, it seems to have been yonks since I awarded my prestigious and internationally renowned "Prats of The Week" Award. Time, methinks, to make another award.

This week it goes to another one of our "respected" local councils, South Cambridgeshire District Council.

For why?

They intend to spend £500K of taxpayers' money on erecting a noise barrier beside a dual carriageway.

To reduce the noise of the traffic for the local residents?

Ermmm.....NO!

The council received a complaint from a group of 50 travellers about the sound of passing vehicles and abuse from motorists.

The travellers, who oddly enough have set up camp (how can they be called "travellers" if they are staying in one place?) claim that their lives are being made a misery by the constant rumble of traffic, and that they are being victimised by lorry drivers who beep their horns, flash their lights and shout obscenities.

The sound barriers would be installed on the A14 near Milton in Cambridgeshire.

Nick Wright, the councillor responsible for planning, said:

"It's such a noisy place to live. When you go down there it's almost a job just to have a conversation.

Obviously their homes don't have any double glazing or sound proofing
."

Aren't there more pressing projects etc that the £500K could be spent on (especially given that we are in a recession)?

Do the "travellers" pay council tax?

Why can't they simply travel elsewhere, to a less noisy site?

South Cambridgeshire District Council, well deserving Prats of The Week.

By the way, South Cambridgeshire District Council, is of course a Tory run council.

You know the format by now folks, drop Cameron a line telling him your views of the Tory party. Use this link: Cameron

Nanny's Special Little Pledge - Catch Them Young

Nanny's Special Little Pledge
As we all know, unlike other countries Brits tend not to do "pledges"; regarding them as a tad suspect and reminiscent of tawdry dictatorships that we long ago bombed to oblivion.

Anyhoo, Nanny has decided to change all of that and "re-engineer" our thinking.

Her special little friends from Norwich and Norfolk Racial Equality Council had fun and games recently with a pledge that they tried to make children say during "Local Democracy Week".

"Local Democracy Week"!!!

Pass the sick bag someone!

Nanny's little "pledge incident" occurred during a workshop for children (aged between 6 and 11) organised by Norwich and Norfolk Racial Equality Council.

Many of the children were from Spooners Row Primary School, near Wymondham, Norfolk. Coincidentally residents from there are fighting plans by South Norfolk District Council to build a permanent travellers' site with eight pitches.

Can you guess what Nanny made the children do?

She tried to make them stand on chairs and recite a pledge to be nice to Gypsy and traveller children, welcome them into the community and not bully them. The children were encouraged to put their fingers in the air, or their hands on their hearts, to signify their acceptance.

Rather encouragingly, it seems that none of the children were fooled by this and did not stand up. Nanny went ahead and read out the pledge anyway.

A very low trick by Nanny in trying to brainwash the kids in this way.

Not very democratic was it?
