Prats of The Week - Birmingham City Council

Kudos to Birmingham City Council for demonstrating some first class prattery.

The council, for reasons best known to itself, has banned a group of amateur historians from taking pictures of the city's historic graves unless they apply in writing for permission on a ‘case by case’ basis.

Members of the Jewellery Quarter Research Trust in Birmingham had been compiling an online database of the many famous, and not so famous, people buried in the historic Warstone Lane and Key Hill Cemeteries.

The voluntary group’s website contains a database with lists of graves and in some cases biographies, obituaries and photographs or portraits of the deceased.

There is also a Google Street View-style 360-degree photographic tour of the cemeteries.

However, they have now been banned from taking photos of each gravestone unless they apply in writing for permission on a ‘case by case’ basis.

For why?

Here is a spokesman from the council explaining to ITV the council's "rationale":
"Permission for this request was declined on the basis that once this information is held by a third party then the council will have no control over how it may be used in future, without a formal agreement in place.
We have not asked for any existing photographs to be removed from the Jewellery Quarter Research Trust’s website. We have offered to work with the trust on a case-by-case basis and have advised them that a formal agreement will be required if they wish to photograph all memorials at both cemeteries."
What concern is to the council what people do with photographs of gravestones?

Is it now forbidden to take photographs of gravestones?

Cretin of The Millennium

Kudos to Fox "News" for surpassing even its appalling standards of shite "journalism", for featuring an interview with Steven Emerson who claims to be a terrorism "expert".

The Guardian reports that Emerson later apologised for his comments, which he admitted were “totally in error”, and said he was planning to make a donation to the Birmingham Children’s hospital.
"My comments about Birmingham were totally in error. And I am issuing an apology and correction on my website immediately for having made this comment about the beautiful city of Birmingham.

I do not intend to justify or mitigate my mistake by stating that I had relied on other sources because I should have been much more careful.

“There was no excuse for making this mistake and I owe an apology to every resident of Birmingham. I am not going to make any excuses. I made an inexcusable error. And I am obligated to openly acknowledge that mistake.

I intend to make a donation to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.”
You will note he has yet to apologise for his comments about London!

Worryingly this cretin regularly testifies before Congressional committees.

We should all be very worried indeed, if this is the standard of "expert" that advises Western governments on how to deal with terrorism and interact with the Middle East etc.

Birmingham Council's Greed

I see that our much "respected" councils are continuing to do their bit to screw us for as much money as possible, in order to maintain themselves in the lifestyle to which they have become accustomed.

Birmingham council are trying to scam people with charges (£25-£50) for taking wedding photographs in Birmingham parks:

You are welcome to use our parks or green open spaces as backdrops for your wedding photographs and/or film recordings of your Wedding day for personal use only, with prior permission from us.

Use service specific Parks form to make your request providing dates, times and the name of the site where you want to take your photographs.

There is a charge of £50 for commercial photographs and £25 for non-commercial photographs.

Parks are open spaces owned by (we pay council tax for them) and used by the public, they are not the private fiefdoms of local councils!

Councils are the enemies of the people!

Nanny Bans Fags For Terminally Ill

FagsWe all know that Nanny is a mean spirited individual, preferring to stick to the letter of her rule book rather then exercise compassion and commonsense. However, this act of meanspiritedness goes way beyond the norm even for her.

Nanny's NHS board members of South Birmingham Primary Care Trust are fighting to ban a smoking room in the Shedlon Unit for terminally ill patients, should the dying wish to smoke they will have to do it outside.

The Sheldon Unit is a palliative care home for patients dying from lung cancer and other diseases. The board have decreed that plans to upgrade the smoking room with a new ventilation system will come to now't.

Dr Chris Spencer-Jones, South Birmingham public health director, said that he did not care if lifelong smokers were dying, they would not be allowed to smoke indoors.

"It doesn't matter if patients might be terminally ill.

That is not relevant because there are other units where such patients cannot smoke.

The practise at the Sheldon Unit is unacceptable
."

Not much of a bedside "Dr Finlay" manner is it?

Even those condemned to execution are allowed a last fag, why not those undergoing the prolonged agony of terminal cancer?

The NHS describes the Sheldon Unit as a service that provides "choice, privacy, dignity and autonomy" enabling patients to die in comfort and dignity.

Errmmm...really?

Nanny likes to pretend that she cares about our welfare.

Does she fark!

Walking The Line

Walking The LineYou will recall my recent article about Nanny's police force using their scarce resources to spy on people in pubs, and fine the bar staff for serving "drunk" people?

Well, she's up to her old tricks again.

It recently emerged that 12 of Nanny's finest visited The Prince of Wales pub in Moseley Birmingham, and carried out sobriety tests on the punters there who were enjoying a quiet libation (can I say libation on this site?).

In a scene out of a Charlie Chaplin movie, drinkers were made to walk along a straight line chalked on to the pavement at the rear of the pub.

Nanny was not happy with the results, officers told bar staff that the customers were intoxicated and out of control.

Landlord Keith Marsden thinks that this was a load of old bollocks. He noted that it was a normal Friday evening, and branded the police "bully boys".

Quote:

"I'm absolutely outraged. It's complete nonsense and if it wasn't so serious it would be a joke.

Why are police officers wasting taxpayer's money investigating whether or not people are drunk in a pub?

It's unbelievable
."

West Midlands Police said:

"West Midlands Police received a formal complaint in November which is being investigated by our Professional Standards Department.

It would therefore be inappropriate for us to comment further at this stage
."

Clearly there is no other crime in the West Midlands!

Nanny Exposed

Nanny ExposedIt is somewhat ironic that Nanny, who has imposed upon us the highest number of CCTV cameras per head of the population in the world, is a wee bit miffed when the cameras are turned on the consequences of her work.

However, maybe that is not so surprising, as Nanny is a tad hypocritical.

Anyhoo, Angela Mason, a former supply teacher from Swiss Cottage found this out to her cost; when she went undercover to expose unruly behaviour in schools in North London, for the Channel 5 documentary Classroom Chaos.

Mrs Mason ended up at a hearing in Birmingham recently, accused of unacceptable professional conduct by the General Teaching Council - the professional body which regulates teachers.

Ms Mason said:

"Teaching is not my profession -

I left it 30 years ago but I still feel

strongly about it. I believe there is a major

public policy issue to do with pupils in

classrooms and poor behaviour.

I'm standing up for the supply teachers and

other teachers who have to endure this every day
."

The dispute has its roots way back in 2004, when Mrs Mason took the footage using a hidden camera.

When the programme was aired in 2005, many viewers including teachers and politicians were outraged at the levels of indiscipline in the country's schools.

Needless to say, that most forward "thinking" and "selfless" body of teachers- The National Union of Teachers (NUT...how appropriate!)- didn't like it. They said it was 'underhand', because the film was made without the school's permission.

My partner, Eva, used to work as a supply teacher in the UK; she tells me that because OFSTED inspectors et al had to warn schools of inspections, special arrnagments were made. Seemingly, unruly and troublesome children were kept out of school on inspection days and extra supply teachers were drafted in so as to make the school look vaguely professional.

What was it Bliar said in 1997?

-Educashun!
-Educashun!
-Educashun!

Clive Rawlings, appearing on behalf of Mrs Mason, said:

"Angela Mason is merely the messenger

and we submit that you should not shoot the messenger
."

The hearing is now adjourned until 18 June.

Nanny likes to watch but doesn't like us to watch.

Nanny's Gestapo State

Nanny's Gestapo State
Those of you who live in Birmingham, and who have forgotten that on 1st July 2007 Nanny's anti smoking rule comes into force, need not fear.

The much "respected" and "service minded" local council has an excellent plan to help you to remember not to smoke in public.

They will be unleashing 100 "enforcement officers" onto the streets of Birmingham.

Neil Eustace, chairman of the city council public protection committee (an Orwellian concept if ever I heard one), is quoted as saying:

"On July 1, our officers will be out in force.

We are very confident that the ban will be self enforcing,

but there will be a level of force from the start
."

Am I imagining it, or is this "servant of the people" threatening the people?

It strikes me that he and Nanny's lackeys in this most unloved of councils have got ideas above their station in life.

Eustace's profile says that he is a Liberal Democrat, isn't it funny how that party always produces the sort of people who tend to act like mini Gestapo officers?

By the way, try clicking the link on Eustace's page to find out about the Public Protection Committee...funny that, nothing there?

Why is that then???

Here is what Birmingham City Council's website website says that they will do:

"After 1st July high profile enforcement activity will commence immediately and our Enforcement Officers will target any premises subject to complaint. There will be a national and local hotline (numbers to be announced – watch this space) as well as e-mail and text systems available for reporting non-compliance."

Nice to see that they will encourage people to spy and report on each other!

The state should fear the people, not the people fear the state.

In case you are worried about the cost of these "enforcement officers", have no fear, Nanny has given Birmingham £600K to pay for them.

Oh, wait a minute, that would be £600K of our money...errmmm...collected in part by taxes on fags, yes?

Nanny's Gestapo will be empowered to photograph and film smokers, then issue them with a £50 on the spot fine.

Isn't it illegal to take photos of someone without their consent?

Now the question arises, when smoking has been eradicated in Birmingham will these "enforcers" be out of a job?

I guarantee that they will remain employed, and will be used by the council to spy on people for other "misdemeanours".

The Gestapo state has arrived, on the back of a fag packet!

Feel free tow rite to Nanny's lackeys at Birmingham council, and vent your spleens:

Money Well Spent

Money Well Spent!

Nanny loves to spend money, or rather she loves to spend our money.

In Nanny's world what's ours is hers, and what's hers is hers!

Congratulations are due to Birmingham City Council for finding new ways of wasting the taxpayers' money. It was reported earlier this money that Ian Smith, one of its workers, is being paid an annual wage of £91,000 despite having been off sick for a year.

Mr Smith is employed by the council's Street Lighting Direct Labour Organisation as a "signals operative", and receives a basic salary of £71,000 and bonuses totalling £21,000 from Birmingham City Council.

Quite a decent wage for a "signal operative", whatever that is?

What's even more impressive is that he has been off sick for a year.

Ah, but you see he is also the department's full-time representative for the Amicus union. The leaders of "the Brothers" must be looked after mustn't they?

Seemingly Mr Smith also received an annual "standby bonus" - paid to lighting engineers to be on call to repair lights at anti-social hours - of £16,000, even though he no longer repairs lights.

A spokesman for Birmingham City Council said that parts of their pay structure were based on outdated employment practice, and were "clearly not fit for purpose".

No shit?

In other words they know that they are wasting your money, but can't be arsed to do anything about it.

In addition to spending vast sums on one man's lighting skills, Birmingham City Council also pay roadworkers up to £53,000 a year for painting lines and cleaning bollards.

Great!

Where do I sign on?

I fancy a spot of therapeutic painting.

Councillor Alan Rudge, the cabinet member for equalities and human resources (another daft council title), said:

"The Council is dealing with the issue through the recognised trade unions.

It is currently in discussions with these groups

and with other organisations who are representing employees.

The Council is carrying out a pay review

in accordance with a national agreement

between councils and trade unions.

The City Council has an implementation date for this

review of 1st April 2007.

The review will deal with, among other things,

the equality and fairness of pay across the workforce.

We cannot continue with pay and grading structures

that are in some areas outdated, unfair and inflexible,

no matter how difficult the change may be
."

Call me a cynic...you're a cynic Ken!

However, doesn't that sound to you like they are only dealing with this now because they have been caught out by the media?

I guess the Brothers in the unions could threaten to go on strike, but would anyone really notice if they did?

As I keep repeating, what is the farking point of our local councils?

All they do is waste money, and impose useless and unwanted petty rules on the rest of us.

Abolish them!

Vent your spleen on Birmingham City Council via this link: Twats

In other news, it seems that John Prescott is costing £18M to run, even though he now has no role in government or society.

Nanny, spending our money on her behalf!

An Inspector Calls

Israr Khan An Inspector CallsNanny believes in being "socially and ethnically" inclusive.

A very noble sentiment, so long as those who are included wish to be part of British society.

As such Nanny's chums in Ofsted have appointed Israr Khan (pictured left), a hardline Muslim and headmaster of an Islamic school, to be a school inspector.

Nothing wrong with that, in principle, until you realise that Khan may not be feeling that "inclusive" towards British society. He once caused a furore by denouncing pupils for celebrating Christmas.

Khan delivered his anti Christmas tirade during a concert rehearsal at Washwood Heath Secondary School in Birmingham in 1996 after the choir, including around 40 Muslim youngsters, had sung a number of Christmas songs and carols.

Seemingly he leapt from his seat, yelling:

"Who is your God?

Why are you saying Jesus and Jesus Christ?

God is not your God - it is Allah
."

The children in the audience began booing and clapping, and a number of choir members (white and Asian) walked out, some in tears.

Khan, who was a maths teacher at the time, was asked to work from home pending an investigation but there was no disciplinary action.

FYI Washwood Heath school had Rashid Rauf, the airline terror bomb suspect whose extradition is currently being sought from Pakistan, as a pupil there at that time.

Khan left Washwood Heath a year later to found the independent Islamic Hamd House Preparatory School in Small Heath, Birmingham, where he is headmaster.

Earlier this year, he was appointed as a governor of Anderton Park Primary School, in Sparkbrook, Birmingham.

A former Washwood Heath colleague laughed openly when told of Khan's role as an Ofsted inspector.

Quote:

"Given the man's history, it's absolutely astonishing.

It's just the cheek of the man that he's been able to reach that position.

He always was an extremely clever man.

He gave me many insights into the Islamic cause

and their hatred of the US and the Western World.

He had a big support base among some of the Muslim parents.

But there were some very influential,

radical elements at Washwood Heath at that time

and Israr Khan was very close to all that
."

Earlier this year, Anderton Park, received an Ofsted report which branded its teaching and its achievements as inadequate.

An Ofsted spokesman said:

"Israr Khan was appointed as an additional inspector

via a highly competitive recruitment and selection process.

He has undergone all the relevant security checks
."

Nanny should remember that inclusion works both ways.

Yellow Peril

Yellow PerilThis week we "endured", according the media, the hardships of a one day strike by Nanny's council workers.

Nanny's council staff are upset about their final salary pension schemes not being treated in the same way as their "brothers" in Whitehall.

It is a fair point for Nanny's employees to ask for equal treatment between themselves. However, what Nanny's workers are conveniently ignoring is that many of us in the private sector, who do not work for Nanny, no longer have the luxury of final salary pension schemes; they have been deemed to be prohibitively expensive, and as such are being fazed out.

Nanny's staff should take note of the above!

As to the effects of this one day strike, well maybe I lead a very blinkered and sheltered life, I noticed not one iota of difference.

Food supplies, power, water, phones, TV were still all readily available; I could work unimpeded. The hospitals and police functioned, and people still went about their daily business.

Croydon functioned as normal!

Therefore I have to ask this, if we do not notice Nanny's council workers going on strike, what exactly do they do?

I can answer my own question, here is a fine example of the added value of Nanny and her lackeys (who are paid for out of our taxes).

Motorists in Sheepcote Street Birmingham were issued with parking tickets when yellow lines were painted around their cars, having parked on the street which had no yellow lines.

The £60 fines were put on windscreens of parked cars last week, after Nanny's council workmen painted the lines on either side of the wheels and occasionally on the vehicles themselves!

Eamu Begum, a victim of the Yellow Peril, said:

"I park here every day and have had no problems before.

The yellow line goes around some of the cars and they've even got paint on one of the vehicles
."

Eventually Nanny's chums in Birmingham City Council, having received a number of complaints, agreed to waive the fines.

Jobsworth wankers!

Ken DispleasedSeven million people now work directly for Nanny (note this figure excludes those working for Nanny's favoured suppliers such as Crapita); excluding those in the front line value added services, such as health care and the police, what the hell do these people do and why are we paying them?

The high level of public sector employment, paid for by the private sector, is unsustainable.

I am highly displeased with the situation!

Nanny Bans Organs

Nanny Bans OrgansOoh vicar, what a massive organ you have!

Jokes like these will soon become a thing of the past, if Nanny has her way.

It seems that Nanny's best chums in Euroland are worried about the state of our organs.

Please submit your favourite organ joke via the comment box...

Anyhoo, an EU directive has been issued which is aimed at controlling lead waste. Nothing wrong with that, except for the fact it impacts British organs!

You see folks, organ pipes contain lead; Nanny feels that the lead content of these pipes pose a serious threat to our health and safety.

I would venture to ask how many of you have actually sucked an organ...but I guess that would be taken in the wrong way!

As soon as an organ faces refurbishment, or rebuilding, the EC directive comes into play. Organs at Salisbury Cathedral, St Paul's in London, Worcester Cathedral, St Albans Abbey and Birmingham Town Hall are among the first that may be facing the chop as they are to be refurbished.

Nanny's regulations permit electrical equipment to have a maximum of 0.1% of their weight as lead. Organ pipes have a lead content of a stonking 50% or more. Nanny's chums in the Department of Trade and Industry has advised organ builders that, in the interests of directive harmony, they must "prepare to comply".

Now at this point you may have thought that an organ was a wind device..more jokes please...but you see, the wind producing part of the instrument is powered by an electric motor.

The great Harrison and Harrison organ at the South Bank, which is now undergoing refurbishment, is under immediate threat. Under EU Directive 2002 95/EC RoHS and EU Directive 2002 96/EC WEEE, it will technically be illegal to reinstall it.

The Salisbury Cathedral organ, where the console is being renovated, is also in danger of breaking Nanny's new law.

Tim Hone, head of liturgy and music at the cathedral, said:

"We would have to use a piano in perpetuity."

One point that even a 10 year old could have worked out, not Nanny of course, is that the lead in organ pipes is not thrown away but re-used. Therefore, if common sense were to be used, the directive should not apply.

However, we all know that Nanny and her lackeys do not exeicise common sense; they merely follow and implent the laws to the letter.

In a letter to organists nationwide, Katherine Venning, the president of the Institute of British Organ Building, said:

"There is a very black cloud on the horizon.

This is not a safety issue.

Pipe makers live to a ripe old age, with no known damage to their health.

The use of tin-lead alloy is essential.

There is no known substitute that will give equivalent results.

Pipe organs last indefinitely, and present no threat to the environment
."

A lackey for the DTI said that the directive did apply to organs, and that Britain could not deviate from a "harmonised approach".

There is a possible solution, remove the electric motors and resort to hand pumping...cue more jokes..to keep the organ going.

People of Britain, stand up for you organs!

Nanny Bans Christians

Nanny Bans ChristiansNanny's nutters in Birmingham never cease to amaze me. Usually it is the council doing something daft, such as calling Christmas "Wintervall"; now Birmingham University Students' Union, keen not to be left out of Nanny's nonsense, has thrown its hat into the ring.

The Students' Union has frozen the assets of the Evangelical Christian Union, and banned the Christian Union from holding meetings at Birmingham University.

Why?

It seems that the Christian Union has refused membership to non Christians.

Seemingly, in the small world that the Students' Union inhabit, this is discrimination.

Wiser souls might point out that this is just common sense, after all why would a non Christian wish to join a Christian society?

What possible added value to either party would there be from such an occurrence?

Anyhoo, common sense never really plays a part in Nanny's thinking nor in the thinking of her trolls and goblins.

Birmingham University's Student Union Guild has demanded that the Evangelical Christian Union (ECU) amend its constitution to allow people of all faiths to become members and, this is the killer point, sit on its leadership body.

Needless to say the Christians think that this idea is bollocks, and have refused, although I am sure that they put it in a far more polite way!

In retaliation the Students' Union have frozen ECU's assets of £5,500, and blocked it from using student union facilities until it complies.

ECU has been around for 76 years, and has no intention of turning the other cheek (I'm on form today folks!), it has threatened legal action to gain access to its funds ahead of a major religious awareness drive.

Andy Weatherley, a staff worker for the ECU, said:

"Christian unions should be permitted to restrict membership to only those people who profess faith in Jesus Christ.

It is a fundamental right of any organisation to be able to include in its membership only those who abide by the ethos and focus of the organisation.

We believe this to be true for all organisations within the student union, not just religious or ethnic ones
."

Pod Bhogal, communications director for the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship - an affiliation of Christian societies - said:

"In all our years of working with hundreds of higher education establishments, this action by Birmingham's guild is unique.

It is over-the-top and looks like political correctness gone mad.

We would not dream of telling a Muslim group or a political society how to elect their leaders or who could or could not become a member.

That's entirely a matter to them, based on their own faith principles. The same applies to a Christian Union
."

The guild believes that ECU must open its executive positions to people of all faiths.

Another weighty problem that the guild is wrestling with, in respect of ECU, are references in the constitution of ECU to "men" and "women".

Seemingly these references discriminate against transsexuals.

Birmingham University's Student Guild claims that it is merely enforcing the 1994 Education Act, which states student societies have to be open to all.

So why has it taken them 12 years to get round to doing this then?

I suspect that there is more to this than meets the eye.

The good news folks is that one day some of these young men and women (sorry, "persons") will be in positions of power and authority in this country, something to look forward to eh?

The Trouble With Roads

The Trouble With Roads
Dear old Nanny is getting a little old and senile I fear, symptoms of this can be seen in her mutltiple displays of schizophrenia eg:
  • Banning smoking, yet still happily taking tax revenue from the "evil weed"

  • Frowning on gambling, yet opening a chain of casinos

  • Stamping out binge drinking, whilst allowing 24 hour opening
Now Nanny's chums in the Highways Agency (HA) are displaying worrying signs of schizophrenia.

The HA, which aims to spend more than £1.5BN on road improvements in the next two years, is telling its own staff to leave their cars at home and take the train to work instead.

A tad contradictory wouldn't you say?

All the more so, given the shambolic state of Nanny's rail network.

Anyhoo, the executive agency of the Department for Transport is offering the 640 employees in its Birmingham office a 50% discount on rail season tickets.

Unsurprisingly only 70 have taken up the offer so far.

Steve Williams, HR director at the HA, said:

"We wish to reduce the amount of waste materials from our offices - such as paper and office products. We also wish to support the environment alongside our roads."

It is estimated that UK businesses lose at least £15BN a year because of the country's poor transport infrastructure.

Money well spent Nanny!

The Dangers of Tea

The Dangers of TeaHere is rather an old story, that I have only just come across, it well illustrates the daftness of Nanny and her acolytes.

Seemingly in May last year, council bosses in Birmingham banned wardens who care for the elderly from making tea for the elderly.

The reason?

Health and safety issues!

Nanny Admits to Bribing Voters

Nanny Bribes VotersIn a rare display of honesty from one of Nanny’s acolytes, Mike O‘Brien Minister for Energy in the DTI and Nanny’s MP for North Warwickshire, has admitted that the proposed law on religious hatred is designed specifically to buy Muslim votes.

O’Brien “spilt the beans” in a detailed article, that he wrote this week for The Muslim Weekly.

In brief, the article tells Muslims that Nanny’s party is the only party that they should vote for; if they know what is good for them. Quote:

“..But this is not the first and only time that Labour Party has delivered for Muslims. When I was a Home Office Minister in 1997, the Muslim Council of Britain lobbied me to introduce not only a new law which would increase sentences for racial violence and harassment but also to recognise the particular problems faced by Muslims. As a result we were able to amend the law to make religion a factor in any violence and harassment. Today, new Crime Bill, announced in the Queens Speech is coming before Parliament to toughen the laws on incitement to religious hatred…”

O’Brien then goes on to describe Michael Howard as being “the most prominent Jewish figure in British politics” and asking “what will Michael Howard do for British Muslims?

In other words, O’Brien blatantly plays to a perceived prejudice that Muslims and Jewish people cannot work together.

O’Brien’s nasty little article displays all that is odious, and unpleasant, about Nanny and her friends. They seek to rule by division, setting one group against another, and by buying votes.

The proposed law on religious hatred is a Trojan horse, in the democratic structure of this country. Were it already in place I guarantee that the Sikh extremists, who shut down the play in Birmingham in December, and the Christian extremists who are issuing death threats to BBC executives over the airing of the Jerry Springer opera would have used it for their own unpleasant ends.

People who seek to impose their inflexible ideas on others, by the use of violence, are scum; they should not be given laws that strengthen their hand!

Mr “Trial Without Jury” Blunkett once said:

I am very clear that some of the noisiest and most high profile political and religious extremists in this country have no mandate to speak for the communities they claim to represent and evoke a reaction which plays into the hands of racists..”

This bill, if it is passed, will give those extremists an extra tool in their armoury. Nanny, by playing to the gallery, has sunk to the level of the religious extremists; stop this unholy bill now!

Nanny Bans Christmas

Nanny Bans ChristmasFollowing on from yesterday’s post about Nanny’s friends in the TUC and RoSPA trying to stop people enjoying themselves at Christmas parties, it seems that Nanny’s friends in local councils and other organisations around Britain have been conspiring together to ban Christmas.

Here is a seasonal line up of some of the Nanny nonsense that threatens to spoil Christmas:
  • My own borough of Croydon have managed to snuff out any vestige of Christmas cheer in the borough this year, as they have banned Christmas decorations in the main shopping centre (see this site’s post "Croydon’s Crappy Christmas”). Those of you who wish to see how bad Croydon really is to live in, are cordially invited to visit www.croydoniscrap.com

  • The Red Cross have banned Advent calendars, and Christmas decorations in their shops, as they deem that they may offend non Christians

  • Luton Council have given their Christmas lights the sinister sounding “Orwellian” name of Luminos. In their sick and perverted view of the world, the word Christmas is offensive to minorities

  • Nanny’s friends in Camden Council followed suit by renaming their lights, Festive Lights

  • Bury St Edmunds banned lights this year in case one fell on someone’s head.
Jobsworth bosses at Jobcentres have banned Christmas decorations, they are a safety hazard!

  • Tower Hamlets Council have banned their staff using the word “Christmas”, when they attend their “Ch***tmas” lunch

  • Nanny’s Fourth Reich Council of Birmingham have banned Santa, as Santa is very offensive to non Christians
Now here’s a few radical thoughts, Ladies and Gentlemen:
  • We do, do we not, live in a Christian country

  • Our Prime Minister claims to be a practising Christian

  • Christmas is a Christian festival

  • We do not force non Christians to participate in Christian festivals

  • We do not suppress other religions, unlike some countries
Therefore we, as the residents of a Christian country, are perfectly entitled to observe a Christian festival; without Nanny’s Gestapo, and Council scumbags, trying to ban it.

There will come a time, and seemingly that time is close at hand, when we the citizens of Britain will come to regard Britain as a foreign land; ie we will feel that we are strangers, and outsiders, in our own country!

Exposed, Nanny's Bribe Scandal

Nanny's bribe scandal exposed!I can exclusively reveal that Nanny is paying bribes.

What?

Nanny, the upright moral guardian of our lives; both spiritual and temporal, paying bribes!

Surely not!

I am afraid so; she is in fact bribing school children to attend school.

You see Nanny has for a long time lectured us about the importance of education. She has a passion, so she says, for education and ensuring that the children of Britain are given the best start in life.

However, there is one slight flaw in her plan to turn British children into the intellectual elite of the world, the children don’t believe her.

Contrary to the media driven myth that we have bred a generation of moronic ingrates, today’s child is “savvy enough” to know that they are being sold “a pig in a poke”.

The exams, that they are being “hot housed” to pass, are worthless pieces of paper; that merely assign them to, at best, stacking shelves at the local supermarket.

Nanny, in her enthusiasm to ensure that her exam pass statistics rise each year, has made the exams impossible to fail. Our children know this; after all if members of the Royal Family can gain more than one A level, anyone can!

Bearing this in mind, children see no point in attending school; to attain these worthless qualifications.

Nanny of course knows that this reflects badly on her “passion for education”.

Therefore, having outlawed corporal punishment and any other form of chastisement, she has but one course of action left open to her to induce children to attend school; she has to bribe them.

Nanny’s “brilliant idea” is being tested at Kings Norton High School, a comprehensive in Birmingham. This school is likely to close, because of its poor GCSE results and abysmal 5% non-attendance record.

A student being bribedChildren at Kings Norton, who deign to attend class, will be entered into a weekly draw for a prize worth £50.

Those who meet their individual targets for attendance, over a whole term, will be entered into a draw for a £150 prize.

Hey, they even get paid to sit the exams; £2 and £5 per subject. Easy money!

In money terms, the cost of Nanny’s scheme is £267K. However, in terms of destroying the remaining vestiges of dignity within the education system the cost is incalculable; as soon every child will expect to be paid to attend school, even though attending school is required by law.

In truth, Nanny does not have a passion for education; her passion is for statistics of her “achievements”, to brow beat us with, so that she can remain in power.

Welcome to Birmingham, Birthplace of The Fourth Reich

Come join the Birmingham GestapoI can exclusively reveal that Birmingham Council have decided to set up their own branch of the Gestapo.

Nanny’s autocratic friends in Birmingham Council have decided to “beef up” their ongoing policy of snooping, interfering and controlling peoples’ lives.
Council staff are being ordered by Birmingham Council to adopt Gestapo tactics, and report people who smoke in their own homes.

A Birmingham City Council memo from Viv Strong (Council Directorate Safety Officer- a very grand title!) states that staff, such as social workers and home helps, are at risk from passive smoking during house visits. The memo orders employees to tell “service users” (voters, to you and me) to extinguish their cigarettes, or face being reported.

Here is an extract of the memo:

“..When employees are called upon to visit service users at home it has to be accepted that the service user is entitled to smoke in their own home...Employees in such instances may politely request that the service user refrains from smoking, taking into account their own personal safety throughout the duration of the visit...Where the service user refuses to co-operate, the employee should report this incident immediately to their manager..Upon receipt of such information managers should review the risk assessment.”

The Birmingham Branch of the Gestapo (seen below at a training course) will consist of social workers, home helps, trading standards officers and licensing officers; they will visit pubs, clubs and peoples’ homes.

The Birmingham Gestapo

What a nasty, unpleasant and odious plan. We all know where snooping and reporting on peoples’ private lives can lead, don’t we children?

In fact, the council are already one step ahead, they have decided that in keeping with their new role as “citizens protector” they will need a more “suitable” headquarters. I have been able to obtain exclusive photos of their proposed new Chancellery, see below:

Under normal circumstances the citizens of Birmingham would be able to show these idiots the “electoral door”, by voting them out of office. Unfortunately for the good people of Birmingham, their autocratic council is planning to abolish elections.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is precisely the way that dictatorships start.
