    Listening to "Any Questions" today, I was struck by how many members of the Great British Public wanted Nanny to fuck off and let people live their lives as they wish.

    I agree but the difference is that the drug advisers are, as I understand it, unpaid volunteers doing the task for the kudos whereas the Climate boys and girls need the government derived money to pay the mortgage and build their pension fund.

    One group has a much greater personal incentive to remove themselves from Nanny's influence that the other. Plus you don't get many papers published if the conclusion is 'Nothing to see here.'
